Description
The description Hockey Stick Handler Stick handler Invention of an exerciser aiming at training the handling of the baton hockey (stick Handling) by strengthening the pronator and supinator muscles of the hand, allowing to improve the control, the speed of execution, the force and especially the good technical Handling the Hockey Puck. This exerciser is used to isolate the movement of dribbling the hockey player's puck, reinforce it and perfect it.
Pronation-supination is a movement that is difficult to detect and measurable by the eye a coach. This movement is short, fast and has a large amplitude having a great contribution to the speed of execution of the dribble as well as the throw at hockey on ice cream. Very often, the teaching received, the technique or the tool (apparatus exercises) hockey players will use to practice dribbling the puck refer to a flexion-extension movement of the arm that happens to be a technique Non-optimum in the practice of dribbling in ice hockey. The flexion movement extension is at sense of biomechanics a coarse movement primarily serving to generate of the force instead of executing a movement of great precision. So when a player performs a flexion-extension of the arm in order to run a dribble, it can with difficulty control the amplitude of it while generating a very high speed, primordial quality to an effective dribble. On the other hand, the pronation-supination dribble of the forearm allows to meet these requirements thus obtaining a quality dribble well superior.
The exerciser is mainly used to isolate the pronation-supination movement so that young and old, gifted or novice, professional or amateur identify the gesture exact to dribble the puck and perfect it. So, the movement of flexion-elbow extension is avoided, a very common mistake among hockey players. Moreover, once the pronation-supination movement is well assimilated, it allows to improve the quality of the dribble translated by the increase of its speed of execution, the force deployed or both well at the same time.
When the movement is isolated, the exerciser offers a variable resistance that will allow solicit some muscles essential to dribbling and strengthen them. In order to to control well the amplitude during the movement, a sound device makes it possible to inform the user on the precise control of the pronation-supination motion necessary for a amplitude maximum according to human biomechanics. That is to say, a 90 degree supination from the zero position and pronation at 85 degrees from the zero position.
When each position is reached on the exerciser, a sound signal and a witness bright indicate simultaneously to the user that the maximum amplitude is reached on the informing immediately on the exact moment to change the direction of movement.
The amplitude movement is 175 degrees total around a longitudinal axis.
The description Obviously, the exerciser is different from other exercise machines that they work the flexor muscles and extensors of the wrist that are different muscles.
It is important to understand that several pronator muscles or supinators do not cross not the wrist joint. So, they are very little soliciting when flexion movement-extension of the wrist, but are, on the other hand, extremely radius rotation on the ulna because their origins and insertions are located on these last. because are very short, these last contribute mainly to the speed deployed during the dribble.
Few inventors so far have designed a device working on the technique to use during a dribble. It is also important to emphasize that these same techniques did not allow a effective training of a dribble since they do not involve the movement of pronation-supination. Moreover, none of them combined in one device day one apparatus to assimilate the appropriate technique as well as to reinforce the stressed muscles during the movement. Moreover, no device has sound guide systems and visual on movement efficiency and a resistance system. (CA 2642520).
Our invention combines all of its elements mentioned above. he allows to the user to learn the proper movement of the dribble, to reinforce the muscles solicited during this movement and to perfect the precision of this latest.
The device (exerciser) is designed in three parts:
- 1 The upper part is a handle that is similar to a round of hockey by his shape and size, adjustable in length to allow the user to adopt the position appropriate according to its size.
- 2 The middle part consists of a mechanism that generates a resistance continues and uniform in longitudinal twist of the handle. This allows to obtain a constant resistance as much to the pronation of the neck as to supination. The tension of it is adjustable to up or down depending on the strength of the user and the effect search by this one. In this mechanism, there is also a sound and visual signal to indicative title for that the performer easily perceives that he has reached the maximum amplitude desired during the pronation-supination of the upper part of the exerciser. The device is designed to allow rapid pronation-supination movement while keeping a resistance constant throughout the movement and this even when changing the direction performed by the hands. The constancy of the resistance is a key element of the invention and this to any moment of the movement.
- 3 The lower part has a fixing element serving as a point support or inking the device. It allows, being fixed, that the two parts subsequent rotate against each other with resistance. It also allows make mobile or not the pivot according to movements hautlas and gauchedroite to increase the degree of freedom of movement in question.
Finally, every ice hockey player or other, professional or amateur could benefit from this device by practicing with, either to learn or to improve their performance.
