Abstract

An extendable plow is disclosed. The extendable plow may include a transitional cutting edge disposed on a bottom edge of the center section, the transitional cutting edge allows moved material to transition from one plowing surface to another. The extendable plow may include a pair of compression springs coupled to the back facing of the center section of the extendable plow, the pair of compression springs to trip the extendable plow. The extendable plow may also include a center section with a side extension on each side of the center section that may be extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths to accommodate different sized work environments and move more material.

Description

EXTENDABLE PLOW
This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application 61/774,448 filed on 03/07/2013, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is a plow. More specifically, the present invention is an extendable plow.
DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART:
Many plows have a fixed width that limits the use that the plow has. Often The extendable plow provides a plow that may be utilized to plow various widths of material. The extendable plow has one center section with an extension on each side of the center section. The extendable plow may also include a transitional BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is a plow. More specifically, the present invention is an extendable plow.
The extendable plow includes a center section having a front facing, a back facing and a pair of sides, a mounting bracket coupled to the back facing of the center section, the mounting bracket includes an attachment plate and a first pair of cylinders, a plurality of side extensions extended from each of the pair of sides by a second pair of cylinders, the side extensions extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths and a transitional cutting edge disposed on a bottom edge of the center section, the transitional cutting edge allows moved material to transition from one plowing surface to another. The extendable plow may also include an extension guide disposed on a top edge of the front facing of the center section of the extendable plow and an extension arm disposed on each side of the extendable plow, the extension arm is adapted to be extended outward from the extension guide by the second pair of cylinders, the extension arm is guided by the extension guide as the extension arm is guided outward. The extendable plow may also include a first plowtop extension and a second plowtop extension, the first plowtop extension is disposed on top of each of the pair of side extensions extending from the center section and the second plowtop extension is disposed on top of the center section, the first plowtop extension and the second plowtop extension assist to direct pushed material forward as the pushed material is driven up the pair of side extensions and the center section and a pair of compression springs coupled to the back facing of the center section of the extendable plow, the pair of compression springs vibrate the extendable plow.
2 It is an object of the present invention to provide an extendable plow that provides a transitional cutting edge that allows moved material to transition smoothly from one plowing surface to the other.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an extendable plow that that may be extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths to accommodate different sized work environments and move more material.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an extendable plow with a pair of compression springs that may be utilized to agitate the material that is being BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS
Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments.
However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.
Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention, however, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.
The phrase "in one embodiment" is used repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms "comprising", "having" and "including" are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.
FIG. 1 illustrates a diagonal perspective view of an extendable plow 100, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention.
4 The extendable plow 100 may include a center section 110 and a mounting bracket 120. The center section 110 may have a front facing 110A and a back facing 110B. The mounting bracket 120 may be coupled to the back facing 110B of the center section 110. The mounting bracket 120 may include an attachment plate and a first pair of cylinders 124. The attachment plate 122 may couple the mounting bracket 120 to a vehicle to push the extendable plow 100. The first pair of cylinders 124 may be a hydraulic cylinder, a hydraulic cylinder or other suitable type of cylinder. The vehicle may be a commercial truck, a pick-up truck, a tractor, a sport utility van or SUV, an automobile or other suitable vehicle. The mounting bracket 120 may include a pair of compression springs 126 to trip the extendable plow 100.
The pair of compression springs 126 may be coupled to the back facing 110B of the center section 110 of the extendable plow 100. The front facing 100A of the extendable plow 100 may push any suitable material such as snow, ice, dirt or gravel.
FIG. 2 illustrates an overhead perspective view of an extendable plow 200, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention.
The extendable plow 200 may include a center section 210, a plurality of side extensions 220 and a transitional cutting edge 230. The center section 210 may have a front facing 210A, a back facing 210B and a pair of sides 210C. The side extensions 220 may extend from each of the pair of sides 210C by a second pair of cylinders 224 to a plurality of predetermined lengths to accommodate different sized work environments and move more material. The second pair of cylinders 224 may be a hydraulic cylinder, a hydraulic cylinder or other suitable type of cylinder. The transitional cutting edge 230 may be disposed on a bottom edge 210D of the center
5 section 210. The transitional cutting edge 230 may allow moved material to transition smoothly from one plowing surface to another.
FIG. 3 illustrates a rear perspective view of an extendable plow 300 with a transitional cutting edge 310, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The extendable plow 300 may include a plurality of side extensions 320, a transitional cutting edge 310 and a pair of vibrational mounting plates 330.
The side extensions 320 illustrated in FIG. 3 are extended from a center section 322 of the extendable plow 300. The transitional cutting edge 310 may be extended from the center section 322 of the extendable plow 300 along a bottom edge 320A of each of the side extensions 320 with a pair of transitional cutting extensions 312.
The pair of transitional cutting extensions 312 may also be disposed on the bottom edge of each of the side extensions 320. The pair of transitional cutting extensions 312 may allow more moved material to transition smoothly from one plowing surface to another than the transitional cutting edge 310. The pair of vibrational mounting plates 330 may facilitate coupling the extendable plow 300 to a vehicle (not shown) that pushes the extendable plow 300.
FIG. 4 illustrates a front perspective view of an extendable plow 400, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 illustrates a front facing 400A of the extendable plow 400.
The extendable plow 400 may include an extension guide 410. The extension guide 410 may be disposed on a top edge 410A of the front facing (FIG. 2, 210A) of the center section (FIG. 2, 210) of the extendable plow 400.
FIG. 5 illustrates a front perspective view of an extendable plow 500, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention.
6 The extendable plow 500 may include an extension arm 510 disposed on each side 500A of the extendable plow 500 and a gusset support system 520. The extension arm 510 may each be adapted to be extended outward from the extension guide (FIG. 4, 410) by the second pair of cylinders (FIG. 2, 224).
The extension arm 510 may each be guided by the extension guide 410 as the extension arm 510 may each be guided outward. The extension arm 510 may each be coupled to the side extensions (FIG. 2, 220) thereby resulting in the side extensions (FIG. 2, 220) extending from the center section (FIG. 2, 210) of the extendable plow 500. The extension arm 510 may each extend the pair of transitional cutting extensions (FIG.
3, 332) disposed on the side extensions 220 while the side extensions 220 are extended from the center section 210. The extendable plow 500 may include four extension arms 510 but any suitable number of extension arms may be utilized by the extendable plow 500 to extend the side extensions (FIG. 2, 220). The gusset support system 520 may be an internal gusset support system 522. The gusset support system 520 may be continuously welded and designed to provide strength and support for the side extensions (FIG. 2, 220) when the side extensions (FIG. 2, 220) are extended.
FIG. 6 illustrates a side perspective view of an extendable plow 600, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The extendable plow may include a curvature 605 to assist directing pushed material pushed by the extendable plow 600.
The extendable plow 600 may include a first plowtop extension 610 and a second plowtop extension 620. The first plowtop extension 610 may be disposed on top of each of the pair of side extensions (FIG. 2, 220) extending from the center section (FIG. 2, 210). The second plowtop extension 620 may be disposed on top of
7 the center section (FIG. 2, 210). The first plowtop extension 610 and the second plowtop extension 620 may assist to direct pushed material forward as the pushed material is driven up the pair of side extensions (FIG. 2, 220) and the center section (FIG. 2, 210). The extendable plow 500 may include four extension arms 510 but any suitable number of extension arms 510 may be utilized by the extendable plow to extend the side extensions (FIG. 2, 220).
While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.

Claims (20)

What is claimed is:
1. An extendable plow, comprising:
a center section having a front facing, a back facing and a pair of sides;
a mounting bracket coupled to the back facing of the center section, the mounting bracket includes an attachment plate and a first pair of cylinders;
a plurality of side extensions extended from each of the pair of sides by a second pair of cylinders, the side extensions extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths;
a transitional cutting edge disposed on a bottom edge of the center section, the transitional cutting edge allows moved material to transition from one plowing surface to another;
an extension guide disposed on a top edge of the front facing of the center section of the extendable plow; and an extension arm disposed on each side of the extendable plow, the extension arm is adapted to be extended outward from the extension guide by the second pair of cylinders, the extension arm is guided by the extension guide as the extension arm is guided outward.
2. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the attachment plate couples the mounting bracket to a vehicle to push the extendable plow.
3. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the first pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
4. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the first pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
5. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the second pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
6. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the second pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
7. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the extension arm is coupled to the side extensions thereby resulting in the side extensions extending from the center section of the extendable plow.
8. The extendable plow according to claim 1, wherein the extension arm extends the pair of transitional cutting extensions disposed on the side extensions while the side extensions are extended from the center section.
9. The extendable plow according to claim 1, further comprising a first plowtop extension and a second plowtop extension.
10. The extendable plow according to claim 9, wherein the first plowtop extension is disposed on top of each of the pair of side extensions extending from the center section.
11. The extendable plow according to claim 9, wherein the second plowtop extension is disposed on top of the center section.
12. The extendable plow according to claim 9, wherein the first plowtop extension and the second plowtop extension assist to direct pushed material forward as the pushed material is driven up the pair of side extensions and the center section.
13. An extendable plow, comprising:
a center section having a front facing, a back facing and a pair of sides;
a mounting bracket coupled to the back facing of the center section, the mounting bracket includes an attachment plate and a first pair of cylinders;
a plurality of side extensions extended from each of the pair of sides by a second pair of cylinders, the side extensions extended to a plurality of predetermined lengths;
a transitional cutting edge disposed on a bottom edge of the center section, the transitional cutting edge allows moved material to transition from one plowing surface to another;
an extension guide disposed on a top edge of the front facing of the center section of the extendable plow;
an extension arm disposed on each side of the extendable plow, the extension arm is adapted to be extended outward from the extension guide by the second pair of cylinders, the extension arm is guided by the extension guide as the extension arm is guided outward;
a first plowtop extension and a second plowtop extension, the first plowtop extension is disposed on top of each of the pair of side extensions extending from the center section and the second plowtop extension is disposed on top of the center section, the first plowtop extension and the second plowtop extension assist to direct pushed material forward as the pushed material is driven up the pair of side extensions and the center section;
a pair of vibrational mounting plates to facilitate coupling the extendable plow; and a pair of compression springs coupled to the back facing of the center section of the extendable plow, the pair of compression springs to trip the extendable plow.
14. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the attachment plate couples the mounting bracket to a vehicle to push the extendable plow.
15. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the first pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
16. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the first pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
17. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the second pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
18. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the second pair of cylinders is a hydraulic cylinder.
19. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the extension arm is coupled to the side extensions thereby resulting in the side extensions extending from the center section of the extendable plow.
20. The extendable plow according to claim 13, wherein the extension arm extends the pair of transitional cutting extensions disposed on the side extensions while the side extensions are extended from the center section.
