Description

SMART INTERACT STATION (SIS) DESCRIPTION
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
PayWave (Visa) and PayPass (Mastercard) Currently, Wikipedia has some information for these different methods of payments such as: Visa that holds PayWave, it is contactless payment technology that allows cardholders to wave their card in front of contact-less payment terminals/machine without the need of insert or swipe physically the credit/ debit card into a point-of-sale device. MasterCard PayPass service is very similar to PayWave, with both using RFID technology [1].
Both features use Radio-frequency identification (REID), this is also a very good explanation found in Wikipedia where it explain how the RFID technology works: this is a wireless non-contact system that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data from a tag attached to an object, for the purposes of automatic identification and tracking. Some tags require no battery and are powered and read at short ranges via magnetic fields (electromagnetic induction). Others use a local power source and emit radio waves (electromagnetic radiation at radio frequencies). The tag contains electronically stored information which may be read from up to several meters away. Unlike a bar code, the tag does not need to be within line of sight of the reader and may be embedded in the tracked object [2].
[1] [2] www.wikipedia.com Please, note that the other information doesn't have much background since it is a very innovative way to interact between machines, devices and users. However, these documents explain how it will work.

SUMMARY AND DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention is called "Smart Interact Station," which includes: a hard drive disk, a control process unit, memory ram, power supply, a screen, Bluetooth, WIFI, intemet connection, LAN, CAN and other types of communication. In addition, it includes USB, serial or parallel port and software. Inside, the hardware resembles the latest technology computer or smart phone. The software allows this Smart Interact Station to send and receive data to and from smart phones or other mobile devices.
SIS is a system that allows users of smart phones, tablets, laptops, video game consoles, smart TVs, or any other communication devices, to interact with machines, electrical/electronic devices, companies, stores, household appliances, traffic lights, electrical posts public places, land/air/aquatic means of transportation, such as cars, buses, trains, subway trains/wagons/carts, airplanes and boats, among others, to send and receive data.
Smart interact station will also be able to communicate and interact with other smart interact station that can be installed in a different place such fix location or a mobile location such as bus, car, train, airplane, boat and any other means of transportation this will allow to send and receive data between them.
Currently, people make payments using several types of methods, such as PayWave and PayPass for Credit and Debit Cards, as well as Tapping for PRESTO Cards in GO Transit.
All of the aforementioned methods use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The Smart Interact Station allows customers to make payments from their smart phones, tablets or any other mobile communication devices, eliminating the need to physically swipe, insert or wave the card into a point-of-sale device. Instead, wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, WIFI, WiMax, internet and others are used, different than the currently used technology Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
Customers are able to make payments wirelessly using "SmartPay Application," a smart phone application which works with the "Smart Interact Station" - sending and receiving data, such as transactions of payments and purchases, selecting goods and services, etc.
This invention revolutionizes the current cash, debit/credit card methods of payment. Banks won't actually be required to send customers debit/credit cards. Instead, banks will send each user the SmartPay application that will have the user's bank information encrypted, or they can send an encrypted file with bank information that the user can download to his/her Smartphone and use through his/her SmartPay application.
How it works:
By using a smart phone application (SmartPay), customers are able to pay for goods and services without using their credit cards. The smart phone application stores customers' credit card or bank information, and when they make a payment to the vendor, all they need is their smart phones instead of cash and/or credit and/or debit cards and/or any types of cards that use RFID
Technology. Vendors have a Smart Interact Payment Station that is able to detect customers' credit/debit card information from their smart phone application. This will eliminate tapping, waving, swiping and/or inserting. In addition, customers are able to make payments at longer distances than RFID Technology. The range of detection can be set by the vendors who use the Smart Interact Station (see drawing 1/Range). This Smart Interact Station also replaces any electronic devices that are used to take payments, such as debit and/or credit machines in point of sale (POS). The SIS
Process of Payment Interaction between SmartPay and Smart Interact Station:
The SmartApp is able to detect all vendors that use the Smart Interact Station. For example, if Tim Horton's and MacDonalds use the Smart Interact Station, SmartPay will be able to detect both vendors. A customer chooses a vendor. He then has access to the vendor's menu and prices, allowing him to choose his desired items on the menu and make payments using the SmartApp.
The process of selecting a Smart Interact Station (vendors) is similar to the process of selecting a network to connect to the internet on a computer or smart phone (see drawing
2).
Next, The Smart Interact Station gets the data from the customers' purchases, differentiates between them, sorts each customer's order, and sends the bills to each customer.
Then, customers use the SmartPay application to pay their bills, while this application has access to their bank accounts and/or debit and/or credit card information, allowing customers to eliminate the need for cards.
In the end, customers can make the payment by inserting their passwords or just by pre-authorized payment In drawing 3, customers are using different devices, such as tablets, smartphones, laptops, and video consoles with the SmartPay App, to select and purchase goods. The Smart Interact System receives this data and sends customers their bills.
This system will be used for different purvoses:
The Smart Interact Station will transfer data to customers' electronic communication devices (Smart phones, laptops, tablets, etc) using a smart phone application called SmartPark. SmartPark shows customers information about available parking spots and allows them to reserve and purchase these parking spots. In addition, it shows customers possible future available parking spots based on other customers' parking spots purchases. SmartPark interacts with The Smart Interact Station, which sends all of this information to the customer's smart phone SmartPark application (see drawing 4).
2. Point of Sales (POS) Debit Card and Credit Card Machines The Smart Interact Station will transfer data wirelessly to a portable communication device such as cell phone, smartphone, tablet, laptop, among others. For example, it will transfer the bill to a smart phone that has been identified as the costumer of this purchase, and the customer will be able to make a payment wirelessly using his Smartphone, completing a full transaction.
3. Smart Pass This system will be used to identify cell phones, smartphones, tablets, laptops, or any other portable communication devices (PDC) while users pass through a gate with any of the aforementioned PCDs. The Smart Interact Station can be set for different detection ranges, for example, can be set to detect smart phones that go through a bus door or can be set to detect users in an entire bus terminal, depending on the application. In the end, customers can make the payment by inserting their passwords or just by pre-authorized payment or just detecting their smart phone.
Customers will pass through a gate that can be found in a cinema, airport terminal, bus/train station. The Smart Interact Station will be placed in a gate that will detect users' SmartPass or SmartPay applications. This will eliminate the need for bus tickets, cards, cash, and bar codes in smart phones for this purpose (see drawing 5).
4. Smart Track - LPS (Local GPS) SmartTrack is an application that can be used to track users, share their data and find their location in places, such as the cinemas, bus/train terminals, airports, malls, and others, where the range of detection has been set.
There will be Smart Interact Stations (SIS) in public places. If users want to share their specific location and data, they can do it through SmartTrack on their phones, which interacts with SIS, which allows them to track each other. For instance, person A wants to find person B. Person A
asks B if he wants to share his location. Person B agrees to share his location and person A is now able to track person B's location and the fastest way to get to him (see drawing 6).
Another example is, at a mall there will be fifteen Smart Interact Stations.
Stations 1-5 will be in the underground parking, stations 6-10 will be on the first floor and stations 11-15 will be on the second floor. If a person is tracked by one of 1-5 stations in the underground parking, the SIS will provide the person's exact location in a virtual map of the place on SmartTrack. This will be used in the same way that a GPS tracks cars or people.
The SIS will work as a satellite for detecting people in a specific place.
Customers will be able to input directions into SmartTrack and know where they are and which way they should go in a building. For example, if they want to find a specific store or washroom they will be able to use SmartTrack that will guide them using a virtual map. It also can be used to search for goods and product inside a store. It will also able to find other Smart Interact Station installed in a fix or mobile place. For instance, to search for a car in a huge parking lot.
SIS can also be use to located places like stores, watch rooms, etc and also goods (Item) in a mall and/or stores using the SmartTrack Smart phone application.
Users will be able to share their location using a Smart phone and/or any communication device, and/or also the location of any SIS placed in a fix or mobile place.
5. Smart interact Appliances - SmartCook - Smart laundry The Smart Interact Station will be installed in house appliances such as stove, oven, BBQ, washer, dyer, blender, microwave, etc. Including heater and air conditioner systems. These appliances will have camera and sensors. Digital and Analog output and inputs will be parts of the appliances to control and monitoring them remotely by a smart phone application, laptops, tablets and any mobile device among others. This will allow smart phone to control appliances by smart phone application.
The SIS will control heater and air conditioner systems for any place that has one such as cars, buses, stores, restaurants, companies, industry, etc. They will be controlled by Smart Phones, laptops, tablets and any mobile device among others (see drawing 7).
6. Smart Interactive Evolution Transportation Smart interact station will also be able to communicate and interact with other smart interact station that can be installed in a different place such fix location or a mobile location such as busses, cars, trains, airplanes, boats and any other means of transportation this will allow them to send and receive data between them. This SIS in mobile means of transportation will allow to send a receive any type of data for any purpose such as payment, track mobile means of transportation or any other purpose except by any safety automobile purpose.
Smart interact station (SIS) system here described will make possible to transfer and receive data from any mean of transportation (Cars, busses, airplanes, trains, etc). The SIS will make possible to achieve project such as Smart Interactive and sustainable Evolution Buss presented by Jhonattan Didier Rueda on December, 20 2010 at the GMC center of engineering design at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. In the Master of Engineering Design.
And any other project where users using smart phones, or any other communication device being able to interact with transportation means. For instance people will be able to know where the busses are in a real time (See drawing 8).
7. Smart Gas Station The SIS with the smartPay (App) will allow people to pay with their smart phone from inside of their cars or with the SIS in the car; therefore people won't need to get off from their cars.
However, people will need to get off from their car to put gas. This is why this patent also provides an innovative way to put gas using a serial robot or a parallel robot such as a delta where this robot will put gas to their people cars. Smart Gas Station with a Smart Interact Station (See drawing 9).
8. SIS in Public traffic lights and traffic signs Nowadays traffic public traffic lights don't send and receive data between users a Smart phone application for user will allow them to communicate between them and the public traffic lights.
For example if one person is in the middle of the road and is not able to pass the street this person can send a signal to the closer traffic light and it will allow turn the traffic light in red letting the person cross the street without problems. This traffic light SIS will be able to send and receive data with smart phone and/or any other mobile communication device (See drawing 10).
Public traffic signs. We know traffic signs don't send or receive data since almost all of them are just a piece of metal. However the idea is to put a SIS in each of this traffic sing that will allow them to send and receive data to smart phone or any other communication device. For instance, imagine one person that park in a place where the person shouldn't park that person will receive a message though his/her smart phone that will tell them to move their car.
Also, those traffic signs on the road that warn people about but weather conditions, road conditions and also don't drink and drive to their smart phone or any other mobile communication device. This can be set up like a voice message or text message in a screen or smart phone. Actually, this can be done thought GPS, the GPS detect the position of the person in the road and the SIS will send the information necessary to the person according to his/her position on the road.
