Description

RAILWAY WAGON BOGIE AND RAILWAY WAGON
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the railway wagon structure technology, and particularly to a railway wagon bogie and a railway wagon.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] A railway wagon used as a wheel-track transportation means generally includes a car body, a bogie and brake equipment. The bogie serves to support the car body, to guide the wagon to travel along rails, and to bear various loads from the car body and rails. The most common bogie for the railway wagon includes one swing bolster, two side frames, two wheel sets, a spring vibration damper and brake equipment.
[0003] Generally, in order to improve the load capacity of the wagon, it is achieved mainly in two ways: one is to increase axle load; and the other one is to decrease tare weight.
Presently, due to the limitation of rails and bridges, the axle load has substantially been increased to the limit and is difficult to be increased any more. Therefore, the effective load capacity is generally improved by decreasing the tare weight, thereby increasing the overall load capacity.
[0004] However, the bogie has a low anti-diamonding stiffness and a low critical velocity.
There are many improved solutions against the disadvantages of such bogie. One improved bogie is implemented by providing additionally elastic cross-braced rods between the two side frames, whereby increasing the anti-dislocation ability between the two side frames and the anti-diamonding stiffness of the bogie. Presently, in actual application, the cross-braced rods may be arranged below the swing bolster so as to form a lower cross-braced bogie, or may be arranged such as to pass through the swing bolster to form a central cross-braced bogie. The central cross-braced bogie is widely used due to a good safety performance and little influence on the brake equipment. The Chinese Patent ZL 200620112243.5 (Publication No.
CN2910705Y) discloses a railway wagon bogie. As shown in Figs. 1 to 3, this bogie is a central cross-braced bogie, including wheel sets 1, side frames 2, a swing bolster 3 and a cross-braced device. Two cross-braced rods 4 are crossed in "X" shape and pass through a preset hole of the swing bolster 3. The two ends of each of the cross-braced rods 4 are elastically connected to the two side frames 2, so as to form a four-bar linkage mechanism.
The two ends of each of the side frames 2 are supported on the wheel sets 1 by axle box rubber and bearing adapter. The anti-diamonding stiffness of the bogie is improved by providing a pair of cross-braced rods 4 between the two side frames 2, thus improving the dynamic performance of the wagon.
[0005] The two cross-braced rods 4 of the above central cross-braced bogie pass through the preset hole of the swing bolster 3. The two ends of each of the cross-braced rods 4 are elastically connected to the supporting seats 5 on the side frames 2, respectively.
[0006] As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, in order to enable the cross-braced rods 4 to be connected to the side frames 2, a supporting seat 5 is welded below each triangular hole 6 outside the side frame 2. This supporting seat 5 includes a tapered post 51, a seat plate 52 and a rib plate 53. The cross-braced rods 4 pass through the triangular hole 6, fitted over the tapered post 51, and are then fixed with a locknut, thus being elastically connected with the supporting seat 5. In the above supporting seat, the connections between the tapered post 51 and the seat plate 52, between the seat plate 52 and the rib plate 53, and between the supporting seat 5 and the side frame 2 are all achieved by welding. Such a structure has the following drawbacks.
[0007] (1) Low structural strength:
Due to the welding, the fatigue strength of a weld joint itself is lower than that of the metal body. Moreover, the space for mounting the supporting seat 5 is limited, resulting in the limitation to the length of the seat plate 52 and the height of the rib plate 53. As a result, the structural strength between the supporting seat 5 and the side frame 2 is lower.
[0008] (2) Large structural pre-stress:
The connections between various members are achieved by welding, so that there are many weld joints being crowded and crossed, causing a large structural pre-stress. In use, an external force is added to the pre-stress, leading to a larger local stress.
[0009] (3) Instable performance of bogie:
Due to the welding operation, the quality of the weld joints cannot be ensured easily, and the tapered post 51 cannot be positioned precisely. Thus, after the cross-braced rods 4 are mounted, the two side frames 2 are not in a desired rectangular shape, that is, the bogie is not positioned correctly, which is prone to cause non-uniform wear of wheels of the same bogie.
[0010] (4) Low strength of side frame:
Because each supporting seat 5 is disposed outside the side frame 2, the cross-braced rods 4 must pass through each triangular hole 6 in the side frame 2. Therefore, the radius of the lower arc of each triangular hole 6 cannot be designed to be too small so as to avoid interfering with the cross-braced rods 4. Thus, the strength of the side frames 2 is decreased.
[0011] (5) Low anti-diamonding stiffness of bogie:
Because the supporting seats 5 are disposed outside the side frames 2, the cross-braced rods 4 are relatively long, thus reducing the anti-pressure destabilization critical force of the cross-braced rods 4. Therefore, the anti-diamonding stiffness of the bogie is decreased indirectly.
[0012] (6) Large occupied space:
Because of the presence of the supporting seats 5, the total width of the bogie is increased. The design of bogies becomes more difficult for some wagons with a narrower outline gauge.
[0013] (7) Great difficulty in assembling:
When the cross-braced rods 4 are assembled, it is required to ensure the clearance between the cross-braced rods 4 and the bottom face of the tapered post 51, and to ensure a certain force moment generated from the locknut above the cross-braced rods 4, which is difficult. As a result, the difficulty in assembling is great.
[0014] (8) Inconvenient maintenance:
Because the tapered post 51 is welded on the seat plate 52 and the seat plate 52 is welded on the side frame 2, it is inconvenient to replace the tapered post 51 when the tapered post 51 is worn or its thread is damaged.

[0031] In order to make objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention become clearer, embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and fully described in conjunction with accompanying drawings below. Obviously, the described embodiments are a part of, not all of the embodiments of the present invention.
[0032] Fig. 4 is a structural front view of a railway wagon bogie according to an embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 5 is a top view of the railway wagon bogie of Fig. 4;
Fig. 6 is a partially enlarged view of a railway wagon bogie according to an embodiment of the present invention; and Fig. 7 is a schematic view of a cavity in a railway wagon bogie according to an embodiment of the present invention. A railway wagon bogie is provided in an embodiment of the present invention, which includes wheel sets 1, side frames 2 provided with triangular holes 6, a swing bolster 3 provided with a preset hole in its body, and cross-braced rods 4. Cavities 7 are formed within the respective side frames 2, and are symmetrical about the center of the side frames 2. As shown in Figs. 4 to 7, the cavity 7 is located below the triangular hole 6; a connecting seat 8 is provided in the cavity 7; a vertical mounting hole 81 is provided in the middle portion of the connecting seat 8;
the cross-braced rod 4 is elastically connected to the connecting seat 8 through the mounting hole 81.
[0033] The comparison is made between the present invention and the prior art.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, in the prior art, since there is a limited space at the supporting seat 5, dimensions such as the length of a seat plate 52 and the height of a rib plate 53 cannot be too large, so that the structural strength between the supporting seat 5 and the side frame 2 is relatively low. The railway wagon bogie according to the embodiment of the invention has no welded structure, and there is no need to consider the effect of welding materials on stressed components, so that the railway wagon bogie may be made of materials with a higher strength, thereby improving the strength of the bogie. Moreover, in the railway wagon bogie according to the embodiment of the invention, a hole is drilled or reamed only in the connecting seat 8 provided in the cavity 7 of the side frame 2, and its mounting dimension and position can thus be ensured easily. Therefore, the position of the cross-braced device is accurate and the two side frames 2 can be in the desired rectangular shape. That is, the bogie is held in place accurately so as to avoid non-uniform wear of wheels of the same bogie.
Furthermore, compared with the prior art in which the supporting seat 5 is provided outside the side frame 2, in the present invention the connecting seat 8 is provided in the cavity 7 formed within the side frame 2, so that the cross-braced rod 4 has a shortened length and thus has an increased anti-pressure destabilization critical force, thereby improving the anti-diamonding stiffness of the bogie.
[0034] As shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the connecting seat 8 is provided in the cavity 7 below the triangular hole 6 of the side frame 2. Preferably, the connecting seat 8 and the side frame 2 can be integrally formed by casting, thereby overcoming the strength weakness in the prior art due to the fact that the components are connected by welding.
[0035] The specific shape of the connecting seat 8 is not limited herein. For example, the connecting seat 8 may be configured in a hollow cylindrical shape, and the circular hole in the middle portion of the connecting seat 8 serves as the mounting hole 81.
Specifically, the connecting seat 8 is disposed in the cavity 7. The top of the connecting seat 8 and the side frame 2 are formed into one piece by casting. The bottom of the connecting seat 8 may be of a suspended cylindrical structure and may extend out of the bottom of the cavity 7 for receiving a positioning piece. In actual machining process, a hole having a diameter less than that of the mounting hole 81 may be precast, and then finished by drilling or reaming such as to achieve the desired dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
[0036] Fig. 8 is a partially sectional exploded view of a railway wagon bogie according to an embodiment of the present invention. On the basis of the above embodiments, it is preferred that the bogie is provided with a positioning pin 9. One end of the positioning pin 9 is provided with a step which abuts against the bottom face of the mounting hole 81, and the other end of the positioning pin 9 is provided with a thread which meshes with a locknut 10, so that the cross-braced rods 4 are pressed against the side frame 2. The tapered post in the prior art is replaced by the positioning pin 9. When the positioning pin 9 is worn or its thread is damaged, it is convenient to perform disassembly and replacement.
[0037] Further, each of the two ends of the cross-braced rod 4 is provided with a positioning hole. An elastic bush 11 with an inner hole is provided within the positioning hole.
The inner hole of the elastic bush 11 is fitted with the positioning pin 9.
[0038] In an actual application, the upper and lower surfaces of the connecting seat 8 are flat surfaces. The cross-braced rod 4 is placed on the upper surface of the connecting seat 8.
The elastic bush 11 is disposed within each positioning hole of the ends of the cross-braced rod 4. The positioning pin 9 passes through the mounting hole 81 and the hole of the elastic bush in the cross-braced rod 4 from bottom to top. The locknut 10 is mounted to the threaded end of the positioning pin 9, thus connecting the cross-braced rod 4 with the elastic bush 11.
The elastic bush 11 functions to create a certain elasticity between the cross-braced rod 4 and the side frame 2, so as to alleviate an impact force.
[0039] It is to be appreciated that, if the provided triangular hole 6 is relatively large, the positioning pin 9 may pass through the mounting hole 81 from top to bottom and the locknut may be disposed at the lower end of the positioning pin 9 during the specific assembly. For the above structure, the positioning pin 9 won't be lost, even in the case of losing the nut, thereby ensuring that the cross-braced device doesn't fail.
[0040] A railway wagon is also provided in an embodiment of the present invention, which includes a wagon frame and a bogie connected to the wagon frame. The bogie is the railway wagon bogie according to any of the embodiments of the present invention.
[0041] For the railway wagon bogie and the railway wagon according to the embodiments of the present invention, the connecting seat is provided in the cavity of the side frame and is elastically connected to the cross-braced rod, which may overcome various defects in the prior art due to welding, shorten the length of the cross-braced rod, and increase the structural strength and anti-diamonding stiffness of the bogie.
[0042] In another aspect of the present invention, a railway vehicle bogie is provided, including wheel sets 1, side frames 2 provided with through holes 6, a swing bolster 3 provided with a preset hole, and cross-braced rods 4. As shown in Figs. 6 and 7, a cavity 7 is formed within the side frame 2, and is defined by the peripheral of the side frame 2. A
connecting seat 8 is provided in the cavity 7. In the example shown in Fig. 6, the connecting seat 8 is located below the through hole 6. However, it is to be understood that the connecting seat 8 may be located at any appropriate position in the cavity 7, as long as the cross-braced rod 4 can be connected to the side frame 2. A mounting hole may be provided in the connecting seat 8, and the cross-braced rod may be connected to the connecting seat 8 through the mounting hole and thus connected to the side frame 2. Alternatively, connecting pieces well known in the art may also be provided on the connecting seat 8, so as to connect the cross-braced rod 4 to the side frame 2. Certainly, the railway vehicle bogie in the aspect of the present invention may incorporate some embodiments or features described above for the railway wagon bogie, which will not be described in detail.
[0043] It should be noted that the above embodiments illustrate the technical solutions of the invention only in an exemplary manner, and are not intended to limit the present invention.
Thus, it is to be appreciated for those skilled in the art that the scope of the claims should not be limited by the preferred embodiments set forth in the examples, but should be given the broadest interpretation consistent with the description as a whole.
