Abstract
An aerosol composition with compressed gas propellant that is free of hydrocarbon propellants is described, wherein the composition comprises: 85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water; 0.01 wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol; 0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant; 0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance; 0.001wt to 5.00wt% borate salt; 0.001wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
Claims (12)
1. An aerosol composition with compressed gas propellant that is free of hydrocarbon propellants, wherein the composition comprises:
85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water;
0.01wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance;
0.001 wt to 5.00wt% borate salt;
0.001 wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water;
0.01wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance;
0.001 wt to 5.00wt% borate salt;
0.001 wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
2. An aerosol composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition is an air freshening composition.
3. An aerosol composition according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the composition further comprises 0.00wt% to 0.5wt% sodium molybdate, and even more preferably comprises 0.0wt% to 0.1wt% sodium molybdate.
4. An aerosol composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition comprises:
90.0wt% to 95.0wt% water;
1.00wt% to 7.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.01wt to 3.00wt% surfactant;
0.005wt to 3.00wt% fragrance;
0.005wt to 1.00wt% borate salt;
0.00wt% to 0.5wt% sodium molybdate;
0.001wt to 1.00wt% preservative.
90.0wt% to 95.0wt% water;
1.00wt% to 7.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.01wt to 3.00wt% surfactant;
0.005wt to 3.00wt% fragrance;
0.005wt to 1.00wt% borate salt;
0.00wt% to 0.5wt% sodium molybdate;
0.001wt to 1.00wt% preservative.
5. An aerosol composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition consists essentially of:
90.0wt% to 95.0wt% water;
1.00wt% to 7.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.01wt to 3.00wt% surfactant;
0.005wt to 3.00wt% fragrance;
0.005wt to 1.00wt% borate salt;
O.00wt% to 0.5wt% sodium molybdate;
0.001wt to 1.00wt% preservative;
wherein the wt% of the composition adds up to exactly 100wt%.
90.0wt% to 95.0wt% water;
1.00wt% to 7.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.01wt to 3.00wt% surfactant;
0.005wt to 3.00wt% fragrance;
0.005wt to 1.00wt% borate salt;
O.00wt% to 0.5wt% sodium molybdate;
0.001wt to 1.00wt% preservative;
wherein the wt% of the composition adds up to exactly 100wt%.
6. An aerosol composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition consists essentially of:
93.1wt% to 93.6wt% water;
substantially 5.0wt% ethanol;
1.0wt% to 0.5wt% surfactant;
substantially 0.25wt% fragrance;
substantially 0.4wt% sodium borate;
0.25wt% preservative;
wherein the wt% of the composition adds up to exactly 100wt%.
93.1wt% to 93.6wt% water;
substantially 5.0wt% ethanol;
1.0wt% to 0.5wt% surfactant;
substantially 0.25wt% fragrance;
substantially 0.4wt% sodium borate;
0.25wt% preservative;
wherein the wt% of the composition adds up to exactly 100wt%.
7. An aerosol composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the compressed gas propellant used with the composition is compressed air or compressed nitrogen or a mixture thereof.
8. An aerosol composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the composition is provided in one of: a steel aerosol canister; a tin-plated steel canister; or another metal canisters that is capable of rusting.
9. An aerosol dispenser wherein the dispenser is a steel aerosol canister, tin-plated steel canister or other metal canister capable of corrosion and wherein the composition is an air freshener propelled, in use, by compressed gas propellant that is free of hydrocarbon propellants, the air freshener composition comprising:
85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water;
0.01wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% sodium borate;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water;
0.01wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% sodium borate;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
10. An aerosol dispenser as claimed in claim 9, wherein the composition is as claimed in claim 1 or any claim dependent thereon.
11. An anti-corrosion air freshening composition for use with a compressed gas propellant in a steel aerosol canister, tin-plated steel canister or other metal canister capable of corrosion wherein the composition comprises:
85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water;
0.01wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% sodium borate;
0.001 wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
85.0wt% to 98.0wt% water;
0.01wt% to 10.00wt% low MW alcohol;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% surfactant;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% fragrance;
0.001wt to 5.00wt% sodium borate;
0.001 wt to 5.00wt% preservative.
12. A method of preventing corrosion of a metal aerosol canister capable of corrosion wherein the method involves the step of introducing a composition according to any of claims 1-8 or 11 into said aerosol container along with a compressed gas propellant that is free of hydrocarbon propellants. Dispensers containing said composition is also described.
