Abstract

Procédés et systèmes permettant lextraction au solvant de bitume à partir de sables bitumineux. Lagglomération des fines est employée pour simplifier la séparation subséquente. Un produit de bitume de grande qualité peut être fabriqué; il peut répondre aux exigences relatives au traitement en aval et aux pipelines ou encore les dépasser. Un mode de réalisation comprend la combinaison dun premier solvant et dune alimentation de bitume pour former une boue initiale, qui est facultativement séparée en solides fins et en solides grossiers. Les solides de boue sont agglomérés. Un extrait de bitume à faible teneur en solides, provenant de la boue agglomérée, est mélangé à un deuxième solvant présentant un point débullition semblable ou inférieur au premier. Le mélange est séparé, le solvant est récupéré et un produit de bitume de grande qualité est formé. Un exemple de système comprend un combinateur, un agglomérateur, une unité de séparation dotée dun laveur à contre-courant facultatif et dun décanteur conique profond ainsi quune unité de récupération du solvant des queues de distillation. Les procédés permettent le fractionnement dun fluide dhydrocarbures en fragments plus gros et plus petits. Les fragments plus petits peuvent être utilisés dans lextraction au solvant de bitume.
