Title: HOCKEY SKATE GUARD (REGUARD) Description Rubber hockey skate guard with pull strap (and hanging strap) added to end of guard.
Cut piece of rubber 3 inches by the length needed to cover blade with 4 inches extra.(shown as #2 in Fig.1) length will vary as to size of skates. Fold the rubber in half so you now have 1 YZ inches by the needed length. Place a rivet (rivet -3/16 x 3/8 with washers 3/16"X 3/8 aluminum) about Y2 an inch from the top of the folded rubber (as shown in Fig. 1- #1 A) This becomes the front of the guard which will be placed at the front of the hockey skate blade. Place the guard on the front of the skate and pull the remaining rubber to the back of the skate - mark the point at which the back rivet will be placed so that the guard fits snuggly onto the skate. (shown on Fig. 1- #1B).
Cut another piece of rubber 6 inches long and 1 inch high - fold this piece of rubber in half and attach with rivet (shown on Fig.1 - #1C) to the existing skate guard. This piece becomes the pull strap and the hanging strap (shown on Fig. 1 # 3) This hockey skate guard is designed to protect the skate blade from wear. The added feature of the pull/ hanging strap makes the guard easy to put on and easy to carry your skates when not wearing. The hanging strap allows you to hang your skates when not in use.
