Abstract

The Bidet is installed as an addition to a conventional toilet bowl having a hinged seat with/without a lid. The spray arm pipe is pivot able from an at- rest position where the nozzle is tucked away beneath the toilet seat at the Rear rim of the toilet bowl; to an operative spray position where the nozzle is positioned generally 3/4 of the way to the front of the toilet bowl (providing a more effective wash for the female user) to direct a spray of water upwards at the under body premises (anal, vaginal and urinal hygiene) of a person sitting on the toilet bowl. When the toilet seat is up, a spring raises the bidet assembly along with the seat, thereby, not only keeping it out of the way for male urination but also facilitating the easy cleaning under the toilet seat and the toilet bowl. This Bidet device is manufactured using high quality cast brass and stainless steel; and a high quality Chrome platted finish.

Description

Description BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(1) Field of the Invention This invention relates to a Bidet device which can be fitted as an addition to a conventional toilet bowl having a hinged seat with/without a lid.
(2) In a Bidet invention where this device is to be fitted to and combined with a toilet bowl, one of the crucial factors the designer should bear in mind is that the function of the toilet itself is not to be interfered with.
As a result of this requirement, a conventional toilet-combination bidet apparatus will generally include a means whereby the spray nozzle is movable between an at-rest position and an operating, i.e. spray position.
(3) In this invention the Spray Arm Pipe is pivot able from an at-rest position to an operative spray position (by a simple upward movement of the easy lift handle). In a non operating (at-rest) position, the Rim Bidet Spray Arm pipe (with a spray nozzle on the end), is tucked away beneath the toilet seat at the REAR rim of the of the toilet bowl; and indeed all of the components of the bidet apparatus lie out of the way of both liquid and solid excrement falling into the toilet bowl hereby not interfering with the normal function of the toilet itself.
(4) In this invention, when in an operating position i.e. Spray position The Rim Bidet Spray Arm pipe moves from the rear of the toilet, on a lateral, horizontal axis, within the toilet bowl with a nozzle on the end thereof pointing generally upwardly, up to a maximum of 3/4 of the way to the front of the toilet bowl (providing a more effective wash for the female user) to direct a spray of water upwards at the underbody premises (anal and vaginal hygiene) of a person sitting on the toilet bowl.
(5) In this invention, a further advantage of the preferred embodiment of the invention is that when the toilet seat is raised, a spring raises the bidet assembly along with the seat, not only keeping it out of the way for male urination without need for attachment to the toilet seat, but also facilitating the cleaning under the toilet seat and the toilet bowl.
(6) The present invention is mainly concerned with the problems of feeding and controlling the water supply to and through the nozzle arm which is capable of moving or swinging, and of mounting and guiding the movable components of a toilet-combination bidet apparatus strongly and firmly, so that the bidet may be expected to have a long and reliable service life. It is also concerned with the ability to control of the height, strength and angle of the water spray to suit individual preference of the user of this bidet apparatus.
(7) The present invention is also focused on a device designed to promote health, safety, and a green environment by preventing contamination of the city water supply of infection, including the spread of bacteria, from both liquid and solid excrement found in human waste, originating from the said toilet bowl and spreading through the main water supply, and the promotion of a greener environment with the need to use less toilet paper, and increased savings overall by way of toilet paper savings and prevention of toilet clogs.
(8) Description Of The Prior Art A number of prior art patents show a toilet-combination bidet apparatus, in which a nozzle arm is mounted for swinging between a rest position and an operational position.
(9) This invention is aimed at improving this general type of combination bidet apparatus.
(10) Differences and improvements made in the Invention This invention is different and an improvement to the other prior patents in that in a non operating (at-rest) position, the Rim Bidet Spray Arm pipe (with a spray nozzle on the end), is tucked away beneath the toilet seat at the REAR rim of the of the toilet bowl thereby all of the components of the bidet apparatus lie out of the way of both liquid and solid excrement falling into the toilet bowl hereby not interfering with the normal function of the toilet itself, In an operative spray position (by a simple upward movement of the easy lift handle) the Rim Bidet Spray Arm Pipe moves from the REAR of the toilet, on a lateral, horizontal axis, within the toilet bowl with a nozzle on the end thereof pointing generally upwardly, up to a maximum of 3/4 of the way to the front of the toilet bowl (providing a more effective wash for the female user) to direct a spray of water upwards at the underbody premises (anal and vaginal hygiene) of a person sitting on the toilet bowl. With the movement of the Rim Bidet Spray Arm Pipe from the rear of the toilet bowl to a maximum of 3/4 of the way to the front of the toilet bowl, the invention is able to provide different angles to the water spray for a more thorough wash to the underbody premises of a person sitting on the toilet bowl (11) In this invention, since the Bidet Spray Arm Pipe continuously works until it returns to the non operating (at-rest) position at the Rear rim of the toilet bowl, the Invention is designed to generally clean itself of any contamination that may have occurred during it use.
(12) Further the preferred embodiment of this invention is that when the toilet seat is raised, a spring raises the bidet assembly.
(13) As an improvement by way of In this invention, the height and strength of the water spray can be simply adjusted to suite the individual need and comfort of the user through the easy to use Rim 3 way valve that is provided with the Rim Bidet package.
(14) This invention includes a feature - the unique Backflow Prevented Invention Valve installed in the invention, which permits the water from main water line to enter the bidet device, but prevents the water from siphoning back to the main water supply thereby preventing contaminated water to siphon back from the toilet bowl through the bidet system into the main water line connected to the city.
(15) In this invention, the Bidet Apparatus is manufactured using high quality stainless steel/cast brass; and is Chrome platted. Unlike other Bidets mostly made of Plastic, the material used to manufacture the Rim Bidet can be cleaned with ease thereby enabling you to maintain a clean Bidet/ Toilet.
(16) SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In this invention, the toilet-combination bidet apparatus includes a nozzle arm which is tucked away unobtrusively to the REAR of the toilet bowl when not in use, and the nozzle arm is movable-from the rear of the toilet, on a lateral, horizontal axis, within the toilet bowl with a nozzle on the end thereof pointing generally upwardly, up to a maximum of 3/a of the way to the front of the toilet bowl. In the invention, the action of a person i.e. by a simple upward movement of the easy lift handle in causing the nozzle arm to move to the operational position is effective also to turn on the water supply to the nozzle. Equally, the action of the person i.e. by a simple downward movement of the easy lift handle in causing the nozzle arm to return from its operational position to its at-rest position is effective to turn off the water supply.
(17) In this invention, the benefits that arise from this arrangement may be described as a_person finds it awkward to reach behind to operate numerous controls; in the invention, only a single control is required, and only a single actual movement is required, i.e. Operation of the easy lift (3 finger width) handle , and that handle is readily at hand. If the nozzle arm is out the water is on; if the nozzle arm is tucked away, the water is off.
(18) Brief Description of the Drawing By way of further explanation of the invention, the accompanying drawing FIG 1 is a perspective detailed view showing the apparatus. A minimized side view of the apparatus is also shown as Fig 2 in the attached drawing.
