Abstract

1). The erector head gear is a free standing application, the first vertical total body exercise that is achieved virtually hands free; by exerting the stress retention from the head only.

The Edge exercise apparatus designed is simulator to that of a helmet. First prototype design:
made from Nylon straps to fit the head snug Just under the occipital lobe then circling the heads side trmporalis muscle and suited just under the frontalis muscle of the forehead.

2). The Head Gear is suited on the head, it has (6) connector rings are attached to either resistance rubber bands or resistance cable weight mechanism. The user can perform lateral extension or half to full forward or backward crunches down or out to any angle the body will extend to; from a upright vertical 90* degree stance either standing or sitting with the option to change connectors and pivot a full 360* degree radius from one to all four sides of the body's natural directional form of movement.

3). When the user engages the exercise from the anterior view; all cervical neck muscle down to the abdominals and oblique muscle contracts at the same time to support the action of the exercise. This process contracts a variety of muscle groups while the user focuses on particular muscles at the same time. Using the Head Gear Apparatus the user can get a total body work out exercising both external and muscle groups. With the Head gear the user can target weak vulnerable muscle groups and strengthen them into vital assets of powerful tools.

Exercise example:

To feel the force of the muscle contraction: Hoe the muscles relay from top to bottom to support each other during the exercise. Please try the following example.

1. Stand arms length away from a person of the same height.
2. Place the palm of your hand on their forehead.
3. Hold their other hand for their own balance and stability.
4. Ask the person to push hard forward with their head while you palm and brace their forehead.
5. This similar could be done at the side of the head or legs.

You will find it takes you very little strength to hold them in that place even at their hardest push.
The body is extremely weak in forward/backward or side to side movement.
Ask them where they feel the most muscle contraction In trying this exercise you will realize the use of: The Erector Head Gear

The Original Primal Edge Erector Head Gear exercise apparatus The virtual total body workout This is a hands free application; engaged from sitting or standing in the upright posture, exercise can be preformed either in the sagittal or the lateral view of the body's positioned stance. This exercise application is suited on the head as the point of origin from which tension is applied. The head gear is a circular mirrored head band / bracket adjustable to size; made either from Nylon ribbon straps or injection plastic mold type casing. The Erector Head Gear exercise apparatus is designed with adjustable slide connectors. These adjustable slide connector adjust from left to right forwards or backwards to desired slotted positioned of the body posture the user wishes to engage exercise from. There is an additional connector setting located at top dead center of the head gear that is used to suspend the head relieving its weight from the vertebra to aid or assist in neck injury rehabilitation.

There is an adjustable Jaw bracket Connected to the head band/ bracket; down around the chin to opposite ear, with an additional connector below the chin, for posterior neck muscles.
This adjustable Jaw bracket is made either from nylon ribbon straps or injection plastic molding.
The jaw bracket is designed to stabilize the Head Gear while performing extension exercises.

- The head gear adjustable connector rings connect to resistant rubber bands or cable restraint exercise devises supplying the restraints to employ the use of the head gear. At this point the user can perform lateral extension or forward/backward bending crunch types of exercises of reaching down and out.

Page #2 6). SPECEFICATIONS: Written description of invention (1B) The Original Primal Edge Erector Head Gear exercise apparatus Is designed to contract and exercise the vertical lateral muscle groups supporting the spine that keeps the body and head erect in its upright posture.

With the head gear suited on, from a vertical 90* standpoint, sitting or standing; from the Anterior or Exterior view of the body, the user can extends or bend in a lateral direction out or down to perform the exercise to all four sides and angles the body will extend to.

The user can rotate and exercise a full 360* degrees by switching to connector slots placed or shift to all four sides of the head gear to achieve a total body workout.

= The type of exercise resistance device required for the use the Erector Head Gear Apparatus: Cable/ pulley type of exercise application type equipment.

Page #3 7). Background of the invention:

1). Classification of the invention: Health and fitness exercise application.
The inventive process is to: exercise the body in both the saggital and lateral natural planes of movement from either the posterior or anterior view of the body.

Specifically designed: To exercise and strengthen muscles that directly support the skeletal frame keeping the spine erect upright in its posture. Further more: This application is meant to be used as a preventative and a recovery device.

2).Description of related arts: Technology applications of biomechanics.

In reference to the muscular skeletal system; for targeting and strengthen the spinal erector back muscles the cervical neck and abdominal / oblique muscle groups.

- Sit ups for exercising the abdominal muscles bruises the lower spine causing injuries.

- Some sit upright abdominal exercises provide padding restraints across the top of the thigh to keep the hip stable; while having two straps connected to the weight machine.
Extending over the shoulders are griped by both hands; at this point the body then bends forward to exercise the abdominal muscles.

- Neck bridges where the body arches from the heal to head or toes to head rotating the Side to side or forward and back causing pinched nerves and damages the vertebrae in the neck. There are machines that a user may sit upright placing the head against a padded bar and lean into the pad with the side of the head forcing out ward a few inches.

- There are neck exercises using free weights on the forehead with the upper body lying across the weight bench.

- Lower back exercises with legs extended between support padding with the body extended out performing up and down dipping repetitions.
Page #4 8). Brief summary of Invention: (A) Hands free Head Gear Apparatus: Total body Exercise application;
Suited on the head then connected to rubber or cable resistance devices. The Head Gear gives the user the ability to exercise and strengthen the entire body using the same application.
The users can perform the exercise either from the sagittal or lateral body positioned stance.
Once the resistance is engaged on the Head Gear Exercise Apparatus, to perform a lateral side ways extension or half to full forward or back crunches in bending to any angle of choice;
all muscle groups supporting the upper body's upright posture and maneuverability will contract in support of each other to act and move as one muscle to perform the exercise from the head down to the hip.

Advantages: Solutions to pending problems. There are three main vulnerable areas that support the upper body weight and maneuverability; These areas are under constant pressure and vulnerable to impact injuries in accidents or competitive sport.

Head & NECK muscle: That supports the weight of the head.

The neck has superficial internal and lateral cervical neck muscles that correlate with the upper erector spinal and trapezius muscle that travel from the neck down the back. The use of the Head Gear strengthens and develop all four sides of neck/head cervical muscles group transforming the vulnerable neck muscles into a vital tool for impact sports and resistance to life muscular spinal injuries.

Page #5 Continue on the following page 8). A Brief summary of Invention: (B).

BACK: This head gear is designed to exercise strength and develop the erector back muscle groups. When the head gears tension is engaged the erector spinal muscles are constantly erect through muscle contraction. The back muscles groups are targeted in whole then in part by specific intention on particular area of focus like the Trapezius or the semispinalis captis of the neck and Splenius cervicis /sternocleidomastoid, These muscles and others extending from the head down behind the trapezius travel down the back. In one motion all muscles groups of the back contract by bending to short crunches or to full lateral extension. This anaerobic way or exercising influences muscle to optimal performance strength and endurance from the trapezius down to the erector spinal muscles at the hip.
ABDOMINALS and OBLIQUE muscles:

The Erector Head Gear makes targeting the abdominal and both the internal /external oblique muscles groups easy; The instant the user engages the tension on Erector Head gear exercise an entire series of muscle contraction erects to preform the movement of the exercise.
Contraction begins from the cervical neck muscles down to the abdominal crual arch. From a upright standing or sitting position the user can initiate short or full bending crunches for the abdominals and lateral twist crunch for the obliques muscles. The straight forward bending crunch action exercises the abdominal. The serratus anterior muscle and the oblique can be accessed by doing a forward crunch with a twist in either direction.

This free standing form of exercise engages all the anterior muscle groups to contract and relax in the "body's upright natural columnar stance of memory or disciplined motion".

Page #8 11. Description of the related art: (C) Distinguish difference: Of old conventional methods. Neck muscles exercises:
1. Neck bridges where the body arches from the head to heal or toes to head rotating from side to side or left to right causes pinched nerves and damages the vertebrae in the neck.
2. There are machines that a user may sit upright placing the head against a padded bar and lean into the pad with the side of the head forcing out ward a few inches and back.

3. There are neck exercises using a padded bar on a machine where the user kneels down the exercise bench bending using arms to support the body while the head bends backwards pushing back on the padded bar.

4. The most similar application is bend forward halfway down and place a strap around the back of the head, the strap is then laced through a free weight and the head bobs back and forth.
Abdominals and oblique muscle groups: Leg raises, decline board bench/sit up&twist.
1. Sit ups for exercising the abdominal muscles bruises the lower spine causing injuries.

2. Ab machine: sit upright providing a padding restraints across the top of the thigh to keep the body stable; while having two straps connected to the weight machine that come from behind the body going over the shoulders that is gripped with both hands;at this point the body then bends forward to exercise the abdominal muscles.

Back muscles exercises: Pull ups, Chin ups, dead lifts, front pull downs.

- With legs extended between support padding, the is body extended out dipping up and down;
or the opposite way for abdominals with the legs taking half the beneficial exercise.

- Exercises that exercises the back muscles: back rows back extensions and dead lifts etc.
Page #9 13. Detailed description of the preferred Embodiment: (D) Distinguish difference: Free form application: Virtually freehanded.
The difference from all other exercise application used to exercise the cervical neck muscles, abdominal/obliques and all erector spinal back muscle groups.

The Head Gear is suited on the head; the user can choose one of four direction settings to engage the exercise application from a upright vertical posture, standing or sitting posture. The user can now connect the connectors to either resistance rubber bands or cable weight resistance applications. The user can free handedly perform lateral extension or half to full forward or backward crunches from a upright vertical 90* degree stance to and angle the body will extend to; with the option to change connectors and pivot a full 360* degree radius from one to all four of the body's directional form of movement.

The distinguished difference: making this application a superior exercise.
For example: Once the resistance is engaged from the Head Gear Exercise Apparatus; to perform a lateral extension or half to full forward or back crunches to any angle of choice;
All supporting muscle groups of the upper body that supports the body's upright posture and maneuverability will contract from the head down to the hip acting as one muscle in support of each other for movement.

With the exception of the arm and legs, The Head Gear Exercise Apparatus gives the user the ability to exercise and strengthen the entire body with the same application in either the lateral or the sagittal plane of movement.
