Abstract
Un procédé de traitement de mousse de bitume comprenant du bitume, de leau et des solides, comprenant des solides fins pour réduire la concentration de solides dans le bitume dilué, est décrit. Le procédé consiste à diluer la mousse de bitume avec un diluant dhydrocarbure pour former une mousse de bitume diluée, à ajouter une quantité suffisante dun silicate à la mousse de bitume diluée pour faire en sorte quune quantité substantielle de solides fins sassocie à leau au lieu du bitume dilué et à permettre au bitume dilué de se séparer de leau contenant une quantité substantielle de solides fins pour produire un bitume dilué, et à permettre au bitume dilué de se séparer de leau contenant la quantité substantielle de solides fins pour produire un bitume dilué ayant une teneur inférieure à 3 % en poids de solides.
