Abstract

The grinding or polishing disc according to the invention has a through- opening in which a threaded insert is inserted via a press fit. The threaded insert has an inne r thread as a through--thread for receiving the spindle of a drive motor. The joined threaded insert eliminates the need for a clamping nut or for the production of an inner thread in the carrier disc of the grinding or polishing disc.

Claims (14)

1. Rotationally symmetrical grinding or polishing disc (1) comprising a carrier disc (2) which is equipped on its front (V) with grinding plates (3) and which has at its center a hollow cylindrical through-opening (4), and having a threaded insert (5) in the through-opening (4) for receiving a drive shaft of a drive motor, characterized in that the length (L1) of the cylindrical part (51) of the threaded insert (5) that is located in the through-opening (4) is shorter than the length (L2) of the through-opening (4) and is designed in such a way as to form on the back (R) of the grinding or polishing disc (1) a circular depression (6) which is used to receive a disc-shaped shoulder on the drive shaft.

Grinding or polishing disc (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the through-opening (4) is provided by a protruding annular cylindrical reinforcement (7) of the carrier disc around the through-opening (4) in the direction of the axis of rotation beyond the front (V) of said carrier disc.
3. Grinding or polishing disc (1) according to claim 2, characterized in that ribs (8) which emanate radially from the annular cylindrical reinforcement (7) are formed on the carrier disc.

Grinding or polishing disc (1) according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the inner circumferential face (41) of the through-opening (4) has a molded-on locking ring (9) which protrudes into the inner region of the through-opening (4) and the first region (B1) of the threaded insert (5) is widened toward the free end (55) in such a way that the free end (55) of the threaded insert (5) is positioned in engagement after the locking ring (9) when the assembly is pressed-in in the carrier disc (2).

Grinding or polishing disc (1) according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 4, characterized in that at least one, preferably multiple welding protrusions (60) are arranged in the area of the joint patch for establishing a joint between the carrier disc (2) and the threaded insert (5) via vibration welding.
6. Threaded insert (5) for a rotationally symmetrical grinding or polishing disc (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the threaded insert (5) consists of a plastics material/natural fiber mixture, in particular of a plastics material/hemp fiber mixture.
7. Threaded insert (5) according to claim 6, characterized in that it is formed cylindrically in a first region (B1) and in a second region (132) is configured so as radially to hang over the first region (B1), the overhanging part (52) resting on the front (V) of the carrier disc (2).

Threaded insert (5) according to either claim 6 or claim 7, characterized in that ribs (54), which are oriented parallel to the axis of rotation and formed in their rib height in such a way that the threaded insert (5) can be joined in the first region (131) into the through-opening by a press fit, are arranged in the first region (131) of the threaded insert (5) on the outer circumferential face (53).
9. Threaded insert (5) according to any one of the preceding claims 6, 7 or 8, characterized in that the height of the ribs (54) decreases in the direction of the free end (55) of the circumferential face (53).
10. Threaded insert (5) according to any one of the preceding claims 6 to 9, characterized in that the inner annular end face (56) of the second region (B2) has radially protruding securing projections (57) for securing on the carrier disc (2).
11. Threaded insert (5) according to any one of the preceding claims 6 to 10, characterized in that it has securing projections which extend in the circumferential direction on the circumferential face (53) of the cylindrical part (51) for securing in the carrier discs (2).
12. Threaded insert (5) according to any one of the preceding claims 6 to 11, characterized in that the lateral end face (58) of the second region (B2) of the threaded insert (5) is formed spherically or in a rounded-off manner.
13. Threaded insert (5) according to any one of the preceding claims 6 to 12, characterized in that the lateral end face (58) of the second region (B2) has at least two, preferably four blind holes (9), grooves or depressions with defined cross-sectional profile which are arranged point-symmetrically and at uniform angles to one another, for screwing the threaded insert (5) using a tool suitable for this purpose.

Threaded insert (5) according to any one of the preceding claims 6 to 13, characterized in that at least one, preferably multiple welding protrusions (60) are arranged in the area of the joint patch for establishing a joint between the carrier disc (2) and the threaded insert (5) via vibration welding.
