Abstract

Il est nécessaire d'améliorer les rendements au sein de l'industrie de récupération et d'extraction du bitume et du pétrole lourd. La présente invention concerne une méthode et un système d'intégration de l'eau entre une opération de récupération sur place du bitume et une opération d'extraction du bitume afin d'améliorer les rendements de ces opérations et les synergies entre elles. Une méthode d'intégration de l'eau entre une opération de minage et d'extraction du bitume, et une opération de récupération sur place du bitume comprend les étapes suivantes : a) alimenter en eau l'opération de minage et d'extraction du bitume; b) diriger l'eau, l'eau d'alimentation de chaudière ou la vapeur générée de ladite chaudière vers l'opération de récupération sur place du bitume afin d'utiliser l'eau ou la vapeur à cet endroit. La vapeur générée sert à contribuer à la récupération du bitume à l'installation sur place. Un système de base d'intégration de l'eau entre une opération de minage et d'extraction du bitume et une opération de récupération du même bitume sur place comprend les éléments suivants : a) une installation de minage et d'extraction du bitume munie d'une source d'eau; b) une installation de récupération sur place; c) un dispositif de transport de l'eau ou l'eau d'alimentation de chaudière ou la vapeur générée de ladite chaudière vers l'installation de récupération sur place du bitume afin de l'utiliser dans ladite opération de récupération sur place. Cette dernière peut consister en une opération thermique, par exemple le drainage par gravité au moyen de la vapeur (DGMV), la simulation cyclique par la vapeur d'eau (procédé CSS) ou une opération dérivée de l'opération de récupération susmentionnée. La méthode et le système d'intégration de la présente invention permet de réduire la consommation et le gaspillage d'eau, la consommation d'énergie, les investissements en capitaux, les coûts d'exploitation et surface d'occupation du terrain, en comparaison avec les opérations et les installations séparées de minage, d'extraction et de récupération. La méthode et le système intégrés de l'invention permettent également l'établissement commercial d'opérations de récupération sur place du bitume de moindre envergure.
