Abstract

L'invention concerne des méthodes et un appareil de maillage de réseau sans fil opportuniste qui fonctionne dans des conditions de réseautage aléatoire. De telles conditions de réseautage aléatoire limitent habituellement l'efficacité des réseaux maillés sans fil de l'art antérieur et, plus particulièrement, de ceux qui supportent des dispositifs de faible puissance dans le réseau sans fil. Les conditions de réseau aléatoire comprennent : alimentation aléatoire, répartition aléatoire des nuds, mobilité aléatoire des nuds, mobilité élevée des nuds, fluctuations aléatoires des liaisons sans fil et trafic aléatoire des applications. Le réseau maillé sans fil opportuniste a mis en uvre un cadre d'applications de type Embedded Wireless Interconnect (EWI) avec architecture à deux couches, lequel cadre a été adopté comme le modèle d'architecture de référence. Les fonctionnalités du réseautage maillé sans fil opportuniste sont fournies pas la fourniture de deux types de modules de liaison sans fil, c.-à-d., un module de diffusion et un module de diffusion individuelle. Les nouveaux réseaux maillés sans fil opportunistes de faible puissance peuvent en outre s'interconnecter à des infrastructures existantes de réseau telles que des réseaux à fil ou sans fil de type Interconnexion de systèmes ouverts (OSI), en mettant en uvre des convertisseurs de protocole aux limites du réseau et, par conséquent, en permettant la gestion de la micro- et de la macromobilité pour les dispositifs sans fil et leurs utilisateurs associés.
