Abstract

Un longeron inférieur de cadre de châssis d'un véhicule automobile est formé d'une paire d'éléments tubulaires fabriqués à l'aide d'un procédé d'hydroformage. Les deux éléments tubulaires sont soudés ensemble dans une portion s'étendant longitudinalement pour offrir un support à la structure d'installation d'un ensemble de pare-chocs. La jointure des deux éléments tubulaires crée une section transversale de longeron inférieur de cadre de châssis qui présente une structure interne généralement verticale pour renforcer et raidir le longeron inférieur. Les deux éléments tubulaires divergent latéralement l'un de l'autre dans une zone divergente dans laquelle les éléments tubulaires espacés latéralement fournissent un support, intérieur et extérieur, stable pour un élément de support de tour d'amortisseur à souder au haut des éléments tubulaires. Le procédé d'hydroformage permet de former des ouvertures dans les parois latérales des éléments tubulaires pour offrir un passage d'éléments de cadres transversaux pour améliorer la soudure des éléments de cadres transversaux au longeron inférieur.
