A first embodiment of an organizer insert 50 has side walls 51 and 52, an outer end wall 53, an upper inner end wall 54, a lower inner end wall 55, and a bottom (floor) 56. An insert ledge 57 extends between the upper edge of lower inner end wall 55 and the lower edge of upper inner end wall 54. The width of insert ledge 57 is substantially identical to the width of lower tier right and left ledge portions 37, 3T of tool box 10.
In a preferred embodiment of tool box 10 the side walls 20 and 22 and front and rear end walls 24 and 26 are sloped. In the preferred embodiment of tool box 10, the angle of outer end wall 53 is substantially identical to the angle of sloping box side walls 20 and 22, and the angle of side walls 51 and 52 are substantially identical to the angle of front and rear end box walls 26 and 24, respectively. However, side walls 20 and 22 and front and rear end walls 24 and 26 of tool box 10 can be vertical, i. e., have no slope, in which case outer end wall 53 and side walls 51 and 52 would not be angled.
A plurality of organizer inserts 50 can be place within either side of tool box 10.
In FIG. 2, four such organizer inserts 50 are shown placed within the left side of tool box 10 with the upper edges of side walls 51 and 52 being substantially in abutment. The rear wall 52 of each organizer insert 50 is in abutment with left sloping box wall 22. The upper inner wall 54 of each organizer insert 50 is in abutment with left middle tier side wall 34', and the lower inner wall 55 of each organizer insert 50 is in abutment with left lower tier side wall 36'. The bottom 56 of each organizer insert 50 is in abutment with left bottom portion 28' of tool box 10.
