Abstract

A toilet seat lifter having a piston with its gain body rotationally attached to a fastening plate itself fixedly attached to the toilet bowl by way of one of the two existing seat fastening bolts.
The extension part of the piston is rotationally attached to an << L >> shaped bracket which is fixedly attached to the underside of the toilet seat.

Description

T~iie~ seal liifter ~e4C14CR~UN~ ~F THE IN~/ETI~I~ o ~i~rC~ O'~ th0 111Ve11t1011 The invention relates generally to toilets but more particularly to a toilet seat lifter.
~ackgrund of the inventican Over the years, many inventions have addressed the issue of the toilet seat, sors~e inventions provide for the lowering of the seat while other provide for the raising of the seat and still other allow for both the lowering or the raising of the toilet seat. Some invention use a foot pedal to control the position of the seat while others are more like pistons being biased either to keep the seat lower~:d or the seat raised. In public restrooms, when a toilet , eat is kept lowered urine can splattered onto it when a user does not bother raising it. It is therefore more practical to have the toilet seat kept in an upright or raised configuration. This can also be of use in private homes as well.
Some of the problem of the prior art relates to an overcomplexity of components which makes installation complex by requiring partial dismantling of the toilet in order to install the device; other devices involve components set inside the bowl which can create issues related to sanitation and ease of cleaning of the bowl. There is therefore a need for an improved seat lifter.

The toilet seat lifter of this instant invention has a piston having its main bodyr rotationally attached to a fastening plate itself fixedly attached to the toilet bowl by way of one of the two existing seat fastening bolts. The extension part of the piston is rotationally attached to an « L » shaped bracket which is fixedly attached to the underside of the toilet seat. Moreover, the piston has an adjustable means so that air can escape at a controllable rate so as to adjust the lift rate of the toilet seat as well as to adjust to various toilet seat weights.
The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of this invention will become more readily apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein the preferred embodiment of the invention is shown and described, by vvay of examples. As will be realized, the invention is capable of other and different er~~bodinlents, and its several details are capable of modifications in various obvious respects, all without departing from the invention. Accordingly, the drawings and description are fio be regarded as illustrative in nature, and net as restrictive.

A toilet seat lifter (10) has a piston (12) biased towards being protracted so as to keep a toilet seat (26) raised and having a main body section (14) which is rotationally attached to a fastening plate (1~) which is itself fixedly attached to a toilet bowl (18) by way of one of the two existing toilet seat fastening bolts (2a). The extension part of the piston (22) is rotationally attached to a toilet seat bracket (24) generally « L »
shaped and which is fixedly attached to the underside of the toilet seat (26).
The bracket (24.) can be mechanically fastened or adhesively fastened or both. The fastening plate (16) can also be adhesiveiy fastened on top of being mechanically fastened so as to avoid water from infiltrating under the plate.
