Abstract

The present invention relates to a growth medium support plate (1) comprising a body part (13) and, situated essentially in the same plane therewith and extending therefrom, a stem member (8) for connecting a cap (10) to said support plate. The stem member is connected to the support plate so as to be flexible in regard to the plane of the support plate. The stem member is connected to the support plate body part in a flexurally stiff fashion.

Claims (12)

What is claimed is:
1. A growth medium support plate (1) comprising a body part (13) and, situated essentially in the same plane therewith and extending therefrom, a stem member (8) for connecting a cap (10) to said support plate, the stem member being connected to said support plate so as to be flexible in regard to the plane of said support plate, characterized in that said support plate includes at least one projection (14) extending from said body part (13) in releasable immobilizing contact with said stem member (8).
2. The growth medium support plate of claim 1, characterized in that said projec-tions (14) of said support plate body part are adapted to make contact with said stem member (8) by means of fixing members (15).
3. The growth medium support plate of claim 2, characterized in that said fixing members (15) are adapted to make contact with said stem member (8) by a break-off connection.
4. The growth medium support plate of claim 3, characterized in that said break-off connection is implemented by means of injection molding, welding, gluing or melting.
5. The growth medium support plate of claim 3 or 4, characterized in that said break-off connection is adapted to undergo its breaking-off action in conjunction with the assembly of said cap (10) on said stem member.
6. The growth medium support plate of claim 1, characterized in that said projections (14) of said support plate body part are adapted to make a frictional contact with said stem member (8).

8. The growth medium support plate of any one of claims 1-7, characterized in that said stem member (8) has a distally tapering shape in the plane of its lateral width.
9. The growth medium support plate of any one of claims 1-8, characterized in that said body part (13) or the projections thereof are shaped to serve as fingerholds when holding said growth medium support plate.
10. A growth medium support plate (1) comprising a body part (13) and, situated essentially in the same plane therewith and extending therefrom, a stem member (8) for connecting a cap (10) to said support plate, the stem member being connected to said support plate so as to be flexible in regard to the plane of said support plate, characterized in that said stem member (8) is implemented as a leaf spring.
11. The growth medium support plate of any one of claims 1-10, characterized in that the material of said support plate is polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene, advantageously polypropylene.
12. Test kit for taking a sample from surfaces or, alternatively, liquids, transporting the sample and identifying/incubating microorganisms possibly occurring in the sample, characterized in that said test kit includes the growth medium support plate of claim 1 or 10.
