Abstract
L'invention concerne un empilement de cellules électrochimiques comprenant des parois d'empilement et une pluralité de cellules électrolytiques dans ces parois d'empilement, chaque cellule comprenant des éléments de cellules choisis à partir d'une anode et d'une cathode; un cadre séparateur à membrane (14) formé d'un matériau non conducteur et possédant une première surface périphérique planaire de cadre; une seconde surface périphérique planaire de cadre; et une partie centrale définissant une ouverture de réception de la membrane (18); une membrane (20) située dans l'ouverture pour former une chambre de circulation de la solution anodique et une chambre de circulation de la solution cathodique, distinctes l'une de l'autre dans le cadre, une paroi d'extrémité de cellule imperméable (12) formée d'un matériau non conducteur étant située entre l'anode et la cathode et les anodes et cathodes des cellules adjacentes dudit empilement. Selon cette invention, chaque élément du groupe comprenant ladite anode, ladite cathode, ledit cadre séparateur et ladite paroi d'extrémité possède une partie définissant un canal d'admission (30) du flux de solution anodique, et un canal d'admission (32) du flux de solution cathodique, un canal (36) de solution anodique usée et un canal (34) de solution cathodique usée; ledit canal d'admission du flux de solution anodique et ledit canal de solution anodique usée sont en communication avec ladite chambre de circulation de la solution anodique, ledit canal d'admission du flux de solution cathodique et ledit canal de solution cathodique usée sont en communication avec ladite chambre de circulation de la solution cathodique. L'empilement de cellules occupe une place considérablement réduite, fonctionne à des températures et pressions relativement élevées et reste stable dans des conditions de charge de courant.
