Abstract

A portable power pack device includes a substantially planar rectangular first base section having opposed sides. A first engagement extends for a length of each of the opposed sides. A second base section is provided having opposed interior walls, which define a rectangular recess adapted to receive the first base section. A
second engagement extends for a length of each of the opposed interior walls. A motor is mounted on either the first base section or the second base section. The motor has a power output coupling.
An operating device, such as a pump, is mounted on the other of the first base section or the second base section. The operating device has a power input coupling. The power input coupling engages the power output coupling, when the first base section and the second base section are engaged.

Description

Product Patent Description Of Travis Wizniuk For TITLE: Multiuse Recreational Power Pack Device Description:
Illustrations 1,2 and 3 are side, front and top views of the base unit constructed in accordance with the invention. The unit consists of a structural frame 9 comprised of any structurally sound material. An engine mounting plate 8 is attached to the structural frame 9. Engine 3 is attached to engine mounting plate 8 with the use of mounting bolts. Unit slide bars 5 are attached to the structural frame 9. Anti vibration insulators 7 are attached to the structural frame 9 in four separate places. Engine 3 is equipped with one-half of an engagement system 4 for quick connect and disconnect. The unit is equipped with an engagement system safety guard 6. The base unit is equipped with a safety kill switch 1 as well as a pin actuated throttle control 2.
Illustration 4 is a pressure pump unit. Unit slide tubing 2 is attached to a mounting plate 1. A
pressure pump 7 is attached to a mounting plate 1 with mounting brackets and bolts. The engagement system 3 is attached to a pressure pump 2 and surrounded by an engagement system safety guard 5.
The pressure pump unit is equipped with a safety kill switch pin 6 and an actuating pin 4, which sets the correct throttle position.
Illustration 5 is a centrifugal pump unit. Unit slide tubing 2 is attached to a mounting plate 1. A
pump unit 7 is then attached to a mounting plate 1 with mounting brackets and bolts. The engagement system 3 is attached to the pump unit 7 and surrounded by an engagement system safety guard 5. The centrifugal pump unit is equipped with a safety kill switch pin 6 as well as an actuating pin 4, which sets the correct throttle position.
Illustration 6 is a generating unit. Unit slide tubing 2 is attached to a mounting plate 1. Generating components 7 are attached to a mounting plate 1 with brackets and bolts. The engagement system 3 is attached to the generating components 7 and surrounded by an engagement system safety guard 5. The generating unit is equipped with a safety kill switch pin 6 as well as an actuating pin 4, which sets the correct throttle position.
Operation When the pressure pump unit (illustration 4) is required, it is coupled to the base unit (illustration 1,2 and 3) with unit slide bars 5 into unit slide tubing 2. Pressure pump unit (illustration 4) is slid onto base unit (illustration 1,2 and 3) until engagement systems 4,3 are coupled. Safety kill switch 1,6 and pin actuated throttle control 2,4 are engaged upon complete coupling. Safety guards 6,5 mate as well, upon coupling. Pressure pump unit (illustration 4) can now be operated safely and efficiently.
When centrifugal pump unit, generating unit or other components are required, the same coupling procedure is followed as with the pressure pump unit.

Claims (13)

1. A portable power pack device, comprising; a substantially planar rectangular first base section having opposed sides with a first means of engagement extending for a length of each of the opposed sides, a second base section having opposed interior walls which define a rectangular recess adapted to receive the first base section, second means of engagement extending for a length of each of the opposed interior walls, the second means of engagement being adapted to engage the first means of engagement;
means for retaining the first base section within the rectangular recess of the second base section with the first means of engagement engaged with the second means of engagement;
a motor mounted on one of the first base section or the second base section, the motor having a power output coupling; and an operating device mounted on the other of the first base section or the second base section, the operating device having a power input coupling, the power input coupling engaging the power output coupling when the first base section and the second base section are engaged.
2. The portable power pack device as defined in Claim 1, wherein the motor is mounted on the second base section.
3. The portable power pack device as defined in Claim 1, wherein several first base sections are provided, each of the first base sections supporting a different operating device.
