Abstract

Procédé servant à gérer et à commercialiser un groupe d'animaux de boucherie, tel que du bétail, en fonction d'un profil génétique prédéterminé, ce qui consiste à déterminer, préalablement à l'entrée de l'animal dans un lot d'abattage, un génotype de l'animal par rapport à des marqueurs génétiques indiquant des traits de croissance sélectionnés, tels que le grade de qualité, le grade de productivité, le persillage, la zone des muscles des côtes et de l'oeil, le pourcentage de cuir et de squelette et la tendresse de la viande, puis à nourrir l'animal au moyen des critères basés sur son génotype. On regroupe cet animal avec d'autres animaux dans un sous-groupe possédant soit un génotype défini, une valeur économique similaire, soit un site de commercialisation commun, et on affecte ce sous-groupe à un box. Ce sous-groupe est géré, nourri, abattu et commercialisé en fonction de son profil génotypique. On nourrit l'animal selon une ration journalière possédant une qualité déterminée par un modèle biologique de croissance potentielle basé sur le profil génotypique de l'animal. On regroupe les données de poids et de race de l'animal à son entrée dans un lot d'abattage et on les utilise avec le modèle biologique afin de prédire le niveau de croissance musculaire et de croissance des tissus graisseux pour chacune d'une pluralité de rations hypothétiques données pendant des périodes hypothétiques respectives. On évalue une valeur nette de l'animal au moyen d'un modèle bioéconomique avec au moins un coût de la ration de nourriture, le rendement et la qualité prévisionnels et le prix de vente correspondant. On détermine le moment optimum d'envoi de ce sous-groupe à l'abattage en fonction d'au moins la valeur nette évaluée au moyen du modèle bioéconomique. On identifie les sous-groupes possédant un génotype correspondant à un génotype indésirable et on les gère différemment.
