Abstract

L'invention concerne un système, un procédé et un article fabriqué, qui emploient des moyens électroniques pour localiser une expédition. Un identificateur de support électronique est incorporé dans un support électronique mettant en oeuvre une zone de découpage en rafales (BCA). Ensuite, un identificateur de localisation de colis est disposé sur le colis dans lequel le support est stocké. Le support électronique est localisé pendant l'expédition. Le système comprend une logique qui télécharge et met à jour des informations fournies par le détaillant et stockées dans le disque numérique polyvalent (DVD). Lorsqu'un utilisateur se connecte à Internet au moyen d'une application du DVD (2300), l'application lit l'information BCA. Elle demande ensuite tous les téléchargement émanant du serveur (2320). Le serveur effectue une recherche dans une table pour identifier le détaillant du DVD, puis une deuxième recherche pour déterminer des informations de téléchargement (2330). Le serveur télécharge l'information vers l'application au moyen d'un protocole HTTP (2340). Enfin, la transaction est mémorisée dans le serveur (2360).
