Abstract
L'invention concerne des plaques du type à microtitration qui comportent des paires de cupules situées sur des côtés opposés de la plaque et connectées entre elles de sorte que le liquide puisse s'écouler librement entre ces cupules dans chaque paire. Une cupule (le "port d'échantillonnage") de chaque paire est une cupule "virtuelle" ayant une capacité volumétrique très réduite en comparaison avec l'autre cupule de la paire, qui peut également être une cupule virtuelle. Ces cupules virtuelles confinent, au moyen d'une tension superficielle, des échantillons de liquide à volume réduit sur une surface relativement plate. Les échantillons de liquide se divisent entre la plus grande cupule et le port d'échantillonnage de sorte qu'un volume de fluide relativement constant reste dans le port d'échantillonnage même lorsque le volume de liquide compris dans les cupules plus grandes se modifie. Le volume de liquide consistant se trouvant dans le port d'échantillonnage permet de transférer des volumes de liquide reproductibles, qui se trouvent tous du même côté de la plaque, des ports d'échantillonnage à d'autres plaques sous forme d'un réseau sur un réseau correspondant de broches.
