Abstract
The mustard mattress according to the invention is designed for lying or sitting for people being under medical treatment. The mattress is made of two envelopes, but the outer envelope (2) and (3) are stitched together along their edges, and the inner insert (1) has pockets (5) filled with the seed of white mustard. The insert (1) is placed through the opening (6) inside the envelopes (2), and the mattress (3) according to the invention.
Description
Mustard Mattre~.ss.
The subject of invention is the mustard maClress which can be used for lying andlor sitting during medicated treatment.
Such mattresses filled with the mustard seed or other matter having therapeutic properties are commonly knov~n and they are applied for therapy. Known mattresses are made as flat bags filled with the mustard seed, and then spread for example on a patient's bed. Such a mattress could not be used for sitting, and requires st~reading it's content of entire bag every time. Other solution is known from description of Polish utility model No 91812 which has a flat rectangular fabric envelope divided by joints in both the surfaces of envelope into ;>maller chambers filled with the seed of white mustard. The mattress on its whole surface has three parallel rows, and each of them consists of narrow crosswise pockets created by stitching of both surfaces of the envelope. Those pockets are filled with the seed of mustard in three quarter of their volume Known mustard mattresses had many disadvantages such as high labor consumption, relatively much time needed f:or keeping the mattress in a proper hygiene .
WO OOI229b6 PCT/PL99I00034 To eliminate those disadvantages the mustard mattress has been developed according to invention.
The mustard mattress according to the invention is made as two rectangular fabric envelopes filled in stitchedl pockets with the seed of white mustard.
The mattress has an outer lagging made as a two ply cover shaped as rectangles stitched around the edge and made; of natural leather and cotton. Inside of this cover a fabric insert is placed. This insert has pockets filled with the seed of white mustard, but the insert has pockets stitched horizontally on the whole width of the insert and those pockets width is about two percent of the insert's total length. The leather envelope of the outer coat has an opening parallel to the width on the mattress . This opening can be closed by a zipper.
The pockets of the insert are fillet with the seed of white mustard in eighty percent giving uniformity of the mattress thickness, according to the invention. Introducing of the outer mattress cover, protecting-insert filled with the mustard protects it against dirt and sweat, mechanical damages, prolongs its duration, and makes maintenance easy. This improves also its application. Using the natwal leather according to the invention makes contact with the mattress pleasant, especially by allergic people, who are sensitive to organic matter.
The mustard mattress according to the invention is shown in the drawings, presenting in fig. l general view of the mattress with the opening for the insert, and f g.2 fragment of the crosswise section of the mattress.

The mustard mattress according to the invention is made as a double envelope designed, with flat rectangular cloths: The insert 1 of the mattress has an outer lagging made of stitched along the edge two clothes - leather 2 and cotton.3.
In the leather envelope there is a flat opening 6 within the whole width of mattress for setting the insert I .
The fabric insert has crosswise pockets 5 made by stitching 4 on the whole width of the mattress, and filled with the mustard seed in eighty percent of their volume. The insert 1 is protected by the lagging protecting against dirt, sweat, and mechanical damages which prolongs its usage.
