Abstract

Cette fibre optique monomodale, possédant un profil d'indice de réfraction constitué de pas moins de quatre segments (16, 18, 20, 22), fait montre de propriétés de guide d'ondes convenant à des systèmes subaquatiques ou à d'autres systèmes de télécommunications à longue distance. Ce nouveau profil d'indice de réfraction se caractérise par la présence d'une âme à indice relatif négatif dans lequel l'indice de référence est celui de la silice. Une autre particularité de l'invention réside dans la présence d'une couche de métallisation renfermant un dopant augmentant l'indice de réfraction, ce dopant se trouvant dans la partie de métallisation adjacente au segment d'âme situé le plus à l'extérieur.
