Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil (10) et un procédé de traitement de l'eau au moyen d'un gaz purificateur obtenu à partir des anions présents dans l'eau. L'appareil (10) et le procédé selon l'invention permettent de préférence la purification de l'eau par obtention, au niveau de l'anode (20), de chlore à partir du chlorure présent à l'état naturel dans l'eau. La cellule électrolytique (10) selon la présente invention se compose d'une chambre électrolytique fermée (12) comportant une ouverture d'entrée (14) inférieure et une ouverture de sortie (16) supérieure par lesquelles l'eau traverse la chambre. La chambre (12) renferme une anode (20) et une cathode (30) reliées électriquement à une source de courant continu classique. A proximité de l'anode (20), et de préférence autour de l'anode (20), formant ainsi les parois d'un compartiment anode, se trouve une pluralité de membranes poreuses (24) disposées de sorte que l'eau les traverse séquentiellement avant d'atteindre l'anode. Selon ce mode de réalisation préféré, ces membranes poreuses (24) comprennent des couches alternées de feutre de polypropylène et de film de polytétrafluoroéthylène microporeux. Dans l'idéal, la cellule (10) doit compter de 2 à 6 membranes poreuses (24) disposées séquentiellement.
