Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la production de fonte liquide et/ou d'ébauches d'acier constituées de matières contenant de l'oxyde de fer et éventuellement de charges, de préférence de matières de cémentation respectivement sous forme de morceaux et/ou de boulettes. Ces matières de cémentation sont réduites en éponge de fer dans une zone de réduction, l'éponge de fer est fondue, dans une zone de gazéification de fonte, avec apport de porteurs de carbone solides séchés et avec apport de gaz oxygénés, et un gaz de réduction contenant CO et H¿2? est produit, lequel est introduit dans la zone de réduction, y est transformé et est évacué de ladite zone de réduction sous la forme de gaz de gueulard, puis soumis à un lavage, et éventuellement acheminé à un consommateur sous forme de gaz de dégagement. Le gaz de gueulard évacué de la zone de réduction subit, avant son lavage, un échange thermique avec un fluide d'échange thermique, avec mise à profit de sa chaleur sensible, et les porteurs de carbone solides, destinés à être acheminés dans la zone de gazéification de fonte, sont séchés à l'aide du fluide d'échange thermique réchauffé. L'invention concerne également une installation pour la mise en oeuvre de ce procédé.
