Abstract

The invention concerns a confidential document, in different embodiments, comprising a blocked out zone wherein is located an antiadhesive zone whereon an transparent adhesive film is set for laser or ink jet printing. A strip is precut at the back of the document leaving ties with the rest of the document. The addressee reads the printed inscription on the film by clipping the precut strip. The invention also concerns a corresponding laser or ink jet printing method for making an inscription confidential, thereby preventing a third party from reading the confidential inscription which consists in providing one of the following features: a blocked out background, a screen with small dots on the background, the adhesive zone not at the document edge, the printing types of the confidential inscription are covered with ink or toner over less than 100 % of their surface, a method which provides evidence of any attempt at violating the confidentiality which consists in providing the following features: the precut strip has ties forming seals, security inscriptions are added over the antiadhesive zone periphery, by detaching the film from its paper support to read the confidential inscription the paper support is defibered.

Le domaine technidue de la présente invention est celui de l'imprimerie et plus particulièrement celui de la confection de documents composant un texte confidentiel.
Dans la vie moderne, il y a toutes sortes d'occasions pour rédiger des documents contenant des informations confidentielles que les tiers, y compris les imprimeurs et les personnes chargées de les acheminer, doivent ignorer. Seul le destinataire doit en prendre connaissance. Ainsi de tels documents sont envoyés par les bandues à
leurs clients pour leur divulguer le code de leur carte de crédit, ou par les syndics pour incliduer aux occupants d'un immeuble quel est le code pour y accéder.
Suivant la technique antérieure, on caviarde le verso de tels textes confidentiels, et souvent on caviarde aussi une enveloppe dans laquelle se trouve le document.
Dans le cas de transmission du code des cartes de crédit à leurs clients, certains établissements fïnanciers l'écrivent en clair dans une lettre recommandée ou non, mais cela n'est pas confidentiel puisque le code est connu du dactylographe qui l'écrit et qu'un tiers peut ouvrir l'enveloppe et la refermer sans due le destinataire se rende compte de l'indiscrétion.
Un autre établissement financier utilise un formulaire de format A4 qui comporte en son coin du bas gauche un talon prédécoupé sur lequel on a placé une étiquette adhésive, autocopiante, caviardée sur son recto. Le code y est inscrit en utilisant une imprimante à
impact. En décollant l'étiquette, le code apparaît et est lisible par toute personne indiscrète qui, après lecture, replacera l'étiquette exactement à son emplacement initial, sans due le destinataire puisse s'en apercevoir. La confidentialité n'est donc pas garantie.
Encore un autre établissement fïnancier envoie à ses clients un document plus sophistiqué qui comporte un premier feuillet conservé par l'émetteur qui comporte une zone caviardée de lettres et chiffres entrelacés et son verso est entièrement revêtu d'une couche autocopiante tandis que le client reçoit un document sous forme de pochette collée des quatre côtés par une languette prédécoupée en pointillés. Le recto du premier exemplaire, outre l'emblème de l'émetteur et le lieu d'émission, contient une zone ou est imprimée l'adresse du client et les motifs de non-distribution éventuelle, une petite zone rectangulaire caviardée de chiffres et de lettres entrelacés destinée à

La complexité même de l'art antérieur, et sa non adaptation aux techniques modernes d'impression prouvent que la présente invention n'est pas évidente pour l'homme de l' art.
Suivant une réalisation du document confdentiel de l'invention, la zone caviardée du document comporte également une trame de petits points. Selon l'invention, on entend par point toute inscription de petite taille car la forme circulaire habituelle des points m'est pas une caractéristique de l'invention. La présence des petits points a uniquement pour objet d'entraver encore plus la lecture des inscriptions faites par imprimante laser ou jet d'encre.
Suivant une réalisation du document confidentiel de l'invention qui permet d'obtenir un document plus plat et d'aspect plus esthétique, la zone antiadhésive n'a aucune épaisseur appréciable. l'arrachement est supérieure à celle de la résistance à l'arrachement des fibres qui constituent la trame du support papier, et en choisissant un film plus résistant à
l'arrachement que le support papier. L'homme de l'art saura choisir tant l'adhésif qui doit être sufitsarnment puissant que le film qui doit être suffisamment épais.
Ce qui est inattendu et hors de portée de l'homme de l'art est l'application du défibrage de la trame du papier support comme preuve que l'on a tenté de désolidariser le film de son support papier et que l'inscription confidentielle a pu être lue. Le destinataire s'apercevra d'une lecture indiscrète du texte confidentiel puisque pour le faire, on devra soulever le füm et défibrer le support papier, ce qui laissera des traces visibles même si l'on essaiyait de recoller le papier. Par conséquent, cette dernière caractéristique de l'invention dissuadera tout tiers non autorisé à essayer de prendre connaissance de l'inscription confidentielle rendant ainsi la confidentialité plus fiable.
Suivant une autre réalisation du document confidentiel de l'invention la languette prédécoupée déborde le f Im adhésif et que les attaches formant scellés sont disposées WO 99/é4252 PCT/FR99/01328 sur la découpe débordant le film adhésif. Suivant une autre caractéristique de l'invention la zone caviardée recouvre la zone antiadhésive sur le pourtour de laquelle on a imprimé des inscriptions de sécurité
lisibles clui se poursuivent sans fracture de la zone antiadhésive vers son extérieur.
Suivant la terminologie de la présente description, les inscriptions sont dites lisibles si on peut les lire tant sur la zone caviardée qu'en son pourtour. Par exemple, les inscriptions de sécurité sont blanches dans la zone caviardée. La zone caviardée pourrait aussi déborder la zone antiadhésive avec des inscriptions de sécurité tout en blanc. Les inscriptions visées par cette dernière caractéristique sont dites de sécurité
parce qu'elles constituent un moyen supplémentaire d'améliorer la fiabilité de confidentialité dans la mesure oir, après avoir désolidarisé la languette du film, il ne sera pas possible de reconstituer l'ensemble sans produire des cassures visibles dans les inscriptions de sécurité.
Suivant une autre caractéristique du document confidentiel de l'invention, on a supprimé l'adhésivité du film sur la surface qui correspond à la zone caviardée en appliquant sur ie film une substance antiadhésive avant d'y appliquer l'adhésif. Cette caractéristique de l'invention peut être utile pour empêcher le destinataire autorisé à lire WO 99164252 PCTlFR99/01328 l'inscription confidentielle, de coller le fim sur n'importe quel support. Yar exemple, l'utilisateur d'une carte bancaire peut avoir la mauvaise idée d'y coller le film pour avoir présent à l'esprit son code toutes les fois où il utilisera sa carte.

Suivant une autre caractéristique du document cooidentiel de l'invention, la substance antiadhésive intercalée entre le film et l'adhésif du film adhésif est une silicone.
La présente invention concerne aussi le procédé destiné à empêcher la lecture d'une inscription confidentielle imprimée au laser ou au jet d'encre dans une zone caviardée de document dans laquelle se trouve une zone antiadhésive, sur laquelle on dispose un film adhésif pour laser ou jet d'encre au moins partiellement transparent, et au verso de laquelle on découpe à l'avance, dans l'épaisseur du document mais sans entamer le film, une languette en prenant soin de laisser des attaches formant scellés reliant la languette au reste du document, la personne habilitée prenant connaissance de l'inscription confidentielle en détachant la languette prédécoupée en brisant les attaches, facilitant si elle le désire sa lecture du texte confidentiel en recollant le verso de la languette sur le film transparent adhésif.
La présente invention concerne aussi le procédé destiné à empêcher un tiers non autorisé à lire en le laissant intact un document confïdentiel caractérisé en ce que l'on muait le document de l'une au moins des caractéristiques de l'ensemble constitué par l'inscription confidentielle est inscrite par imprimante laser ou jet d'encre sur un film adhésif à l'aplomb d'une zone caviardée, on ajoute une trame en petits points dans la zone caviardée du document, les bords de la languette prédécoupée ne sont jamais confondus avec ceux du document confidentiel, la surface des signes et caractères confidentiels est recouverte d'encre ou de toper à moins de 100%.
On sait en effet que le caviardage est une entrave à la lecture d'une inscription, qu'une trame à petits points dont la forme n'est pas caractéristique de l'invention est une entrave supplémentaire.
On peut par ailleurs utiliser la possibilité offerte par les imprimantes laser et jet d'encre de n'imprimer les signes et caractères du texte confidentiel qu'à un certain pourcentage de couverture. Lorsque la couverture est à 100%, toute la surface des signes et caractères est couverte de toper ou d'encre, et ceux-ci apparaissent très nettement au risque de pouvoir être lus nonobstant le caviardage et même la trame à petits points. Au fur et à mesure que la couverture des signes et caractères diminue, c'est-à-dire que la surface enduite de toper ou d'encre diminue, ceux-ci deviennent moins apparents et il devient de plus en plus difficile de les lire ou de les deviner dans le caviardage et la trame à petits points. II est bien évident que le pourcentage de couverture pour garantir l'impossibilité de discerner signes et caractères confidentiels dépend de la qualité à la fois du caviardage et de la trame à petits points. C'est pourquoi, la caractéristique de l'invention est ici simplement que la couverture des signes et caractères n'est réalisée qu'à un pourcentage inférieur à 100%.
La présente invention concerne en outre le procédé destiné à mettre en évidence toute tentative de viol de la confidentialité dans un document confidentiel suivant l'invention caractérisé en ce qu'il est au moins un élément de l'ensemble constitué par des attaches formant scellés relient la languette prédécoupée au reste du document, un film adhésif qui ne peut pas être soulevé de son support, dans les zones où il n'est pas enduit d'une couche antiadhésive, sans défibrer le papier support, la zone antiadhésive recouvre la zone caviardée et on a imprimé sur le pourtour de la zone antiadhésive des inscriptions de sécurité qui se poursuivent sans fracture de la zone antiadhésive vers son extérieur et qui sont lisibles tant dans la zone antiadhésive qu'à son extérieur.
L'invention concerne également le procédé de confection d'un document confidentiel suivant l'invention caractérisé en ce que l'on imprime une zone caviardée sur le document en y incluant une zone antiadhésive sur laquelle on dispose un film adhésif, au moins partiellement transparent, pour impression laser ou jet d'encre et qu'au verso du document, à l'endroit où se trouve le film, on découpe par avance, dans l'épaisseur du document sans entamer le film, une languette en prenant soin de laisser des attaches formant scellés, puis on imprime au laser ou au jet d'encre le texte confidentiel dans la zone délimitée par le film par jet d'encre ou par laser.

EXEMPLE : Document de transmission du code d'une carte de crédit.
Sur des feuilles de format A4 à 80 g au mz, on imprime à l'imprimante laser les inscriptions non confidentielles et un pavé A, de forme rectangulaire, caviardé et muni d'une trame de petits points, de 90 mm de long par 30 mm de haut et situé à IS
mm des bords supérieur et droit. Pendant le même passage, on dépose un enduit antiadhésif formant un pavé B de 76 par 20 mm situé au milieu du pavé A.
I 5 Puis on dépose sur toute la surface du pavé A un film, adhésif de façon permanente, de polyester mat pour impression laser de 50 microns d'épaisseur. Sur le verso de l'impression, au dos et au milieu du pavé B, on découpe en prenant soin de ne pas entamer le film de polyester, une languette C de 60 par 15 mm en laissant huit attaches qui relient la languette au reste de la feuille, 4 attaches sont placées aux quatre coins de la languette, les quatre autres sont réguliérement disposées tous les 20 mm le long des deux bords en longueur. Le verso de la languette C est blanche et ne porte donc aucune inscription.
Un obtient ainsi des documents de format A4 à utiliser par les établissements financiers émetteurs pour envoyer à chaque client le code secret de sa carte de crédit.

Mais le client préférera retourner la languette C et coller son verso sur l'adhésif permanent du film en polyester car la lecture du code confidentiel sera beaucoup plu aisée sur le fond blanc du verso de la languette C.
La présente invention n'est nullement limitée au présent exemple et aux explications qui l'ont précédé et elle concerne également toutes les réalisations évidentes pour l'homme de l'art dui découlent de l'esprit de l'invention.
