Abstract

On décrit un procédé, un système permettant de détecter et d'afficher des amas de micro-calcifications présents dans un mammogramme numérique. Dans ce procédé et ce système un unique mammogramme numérique (100) est tout d'abord automatiquement recadré (200) sous forme d'une sous-image d'une région de la poitrine qui est ensuite traitée au moyen d'une différence optimisée d'un filtre Gaussien pour améliorer l'aspect des micro-calcifications potentielles dans la sous-image. Les micro-calcifications potentielles sont comparées à un seuil, les amas sont détectés (300), les caractéristiques sont calculées pour les amas détectés et les amas sont classifiés (400) comme étant suspects ou non suspects par un réseau neuronal. Dans le mammogramme numérique de départ les endroits où se trouvent les amas de micro-calcification détéctés et classés suspects sont indiqués. Les résultats du système sont combinés de manière optimale avec l'observation du radiologiste du mammogramme de départ au moyen de la combinaison des observations avec les résultats une fois que le radiologiste a tout d'abord accepté ou rejeté les détections individuelles communiquées par le système.
