Abstract
A pressure or blast release is disclosed for use on the burn chamber of a thermal refractor or other waste incineration unit. The release of the present invention comprises a spring loaded blast door which will blow open upon the over-pressuring of the interior of the burn chamber, either from overworking of the unit or the explosion or burning of a fuel cell within the waste being treated. Once the pressure within the burn chamber decreases the release of the present invention closes itself and normal operation call continue.

This invention is in the field of thermal refr~xc.tors and waste incinerators. snore specifically, the invention is in the field of safety measures used on these devices in the event of an explosion or over pressuring within the burn chamber.
to Thermal refractors or other waste incinerators are used to destroy or sterilize all types of waste materials, gases and -the like. One safety hazard of these units is an explosion is within the burn chamber which if of sufficient magnitude could cause bodily harm to operators of the device, as well as harm to the machine itself if the force of the explosion were -sufficient enough to cause the burn chamber itself to break or exglode.
Whale one method of avoiding such a catastrophe is to Carefully monitor the Qperator of such units and ensure that ' S-;~~-aa; a:SaaM;rurmen t4 rceW ~o Hga L~N~: no tWe no. ;+~ dub ~Sa ba56 7F

This possibility is a safety s concern which has not been sufficiently addressed by thermal refractors a~COd other high temperature waste incinerators in use currently - particularly those of a movable or portable variety.

The pressure release door of the present invention could be s hinged a~.ong one edge and allowed to open and close in that fashion, with the spring or other tensioning apparatus pulling the free edge og the pressuxe release door closed.
