Abstract
L'invention concerne un système de communication terrestre facilitant la transmission audio, vidéo, de données et tout type de communication à l'intérieur d'une zone géographique locale et avec un très grand nombre de canaux de communication rendus disponibles simultanément à un très faible coût. Ce système comprend au moins un satellite terrestre local (LST), de préférence implanté dans un mât ou une autre structure de support quelle qu'elle soit. Chaque LTS possède un équipement de communication haute fréquence correspondant sensiblement à un satellite géostationnaire conventionnel pour la transmission numérique audio, vidéo ou de données, agencé de manière à transmettre dans la bande L (1 à 2 GHz), la bande S (2 à 4 GHz) ou une bande de fréquence plus haute avec une puissance de sortie relativement faible. Chaque LTS possède également un dispositif d'antenne de préférence omnidirectionnelle pour la transmission dans un plan sensiblement horizontal. Les signaux peuvent être numérisés selon MPEG-2 ou selon n'importe quel algorithme connu ou futur pour la formation d'un signal.
