Accordingly, a lot of money and time is spent on the preparation of the appearance of a person's hair, and an entire industry has developed full of services and products to achieve this need. As the tempo of life continues to accelerate, there is an ever increasing desire to minimize the time required to prepare an attractive hair style. Accordingly, a need exists for devices and methods which facilitate the creation of an attractive hair style in a minimum amount of time.

Indeed, the hair styling device allows to attach firmly a bun to the back of a head.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a hair styling device which is easy to use and which allows to keep a bun firmly in place during the practice of different kinds of activities like sports, dinners, nights out and so on.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a hair styling device which will conform to convenient forms of manufacturing, be of simple construction and easy to use, as to provide a hair styling device which will be economically feasible and long lasting.
It is still a further object of the present invention to provide an effective and simple method for using a hair styling device which allows to obtain an attractive hair style in only a few seconds.
Brief Deccrar,tion of the Drawingc An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, in reference to the following drawinl;s in which:
2 FIGURE 1 ~ In a perspective view, illustrates a hair styling device in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention;
FIGU F 2 AND 3~ In sequential views, illustrate the hair preparation required before using a hair styling device to fix firmly a bun to the back of the head of its user in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention;
FIGURE 4 TO 9~ In sequential views, illustrate an effective method for using a hair styling device in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention;
FIGURE 10~ Illustrates the final result obtained with a hair styling device in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
stalled Deccrintinn Before explaining in detail the present invention, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanying drawings, since the invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced or carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation.
3 Referring to figure 1, there is shown, in a perspective view, a hair styling device 1 in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. The hair styling device 1 is composed of a semi-rigid U-shaped stem 2, a band 3 and a semi-rigid needle 4. The needle 4 extends to an unsharpened point 5 at a first end thereof while the U-shaped stem 2 extends to two unsharpened points 14. The second end of the needle 4 includes an aperture 6 through which one extremity of the band 3 is passed and then secured. The other extremity of the band 3 is secured to the central part of the U-shaped stem 2. Said U-shaped stem 2 is slightly bent in order to shape closely the outline of the back of the user's head.
The U-shaped stem 2 and the needle 4 are made of material such as plastic which can resiliently deform under the influence of external forces but return to its original shape when those forces have been removed.
Referring to figures 2 and 3, there is shown in sequential views, the hair preparation required before using the hair styling device 1. First, the user has to make a ponytail 7 and then he has to twist it a few times before abutting and holding it on the back of its head thus forming a bun 8. Once these steps are done, the hair styling device 1 can be used.
Referring to figures 4 to 9, there is shown in sequential views, an effective method for using the hair styling device 1 in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. First, the U-shaped stem 2 has to be inserted upwards into the bun 8 close to the user's head in the direction of arrow 9 as it is illustrated in figure 4.
4 The points 14 allow to the U-shaped stem 2 to be inserted to glide with little friction through the hair without pulling excessively on the hair itself. Then, the needle 4 can be passed once over the bun 8 in the direction of arrow 10 as it is illustrated in figure 6 before being passed under the U-shaped stem 2 in the direction of arrow 11 as it is illustrated in figure 7.
Once the needle 4 has been passed under the U-shaped stem 2, it can be passed over the bun 8 again in the direction of arrow 12 as it is illustrated in figure 8. Those operations have to be repeated a few times to attach firmly the bun 8 to the back of the user's head and to be sure that said bun will be properly tightened by the band 3 and will keep its final shape. Finally, the needle 4 simply has to be inserted downwards into the bun 8 in the direction of arrow 13 as it is illustrated in figure 9.
Referring to figure 10, there is shown the final result obtained with the hair styling device 1.
As it has been mentioned hereinabove, the hair styling device 1 allows to attach firmly a bun to the back of a head in order to obtain easily and rapidly a pleasing and unique hair style which will stay properly in place even during the practice of different kinds of activities like sports, dinners, nights out and so on.
In a preferred method of manufacturing, the needle 4 and the U-shaped stem 2 of the hair styling device 1 are made of a semi-rigid material like plastic and obtained by an injection process.
The band 3 is made of an elastic fabric or of a combination of an elastic covered by a fabric. In both cases, attractive patterns can be printed on the band 3 to procure a nice appearance. Any other suitable means could be used without departing from the scope of the present invention.
