Abstract
The invention relates to a circuit for operating a generator having a plurality of generator coils in which a voltage is induced. At low rotational speeds and/or low voltage output, at least two of the generator coils are connected in series, and at higher rotational speeds and/or at a higher voltage output of the individual generator coils, the latter are connected in parallel, with the result that the generator voltage of the generator is reduced.
As a result of this, the total voltage of the generator is kept in a predetermined range in a simple manner, without complicated voltage regulators being necessary for this purpose. In addition, high output voltages which enable operation of electrical devices, in particular fuel injection devices, are obtained at low rotational speeds.
