Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé qui consiste à précipiter des particules grenues de carbonate de calcium à structure prismatique par carbonatation d'hydroxyde de calcium aqueux contenant un saccharide ou un polysaccharide ou bien un saccharide ou un polysaccharide et un ion métallique, à des températures comprises entre 8 DEG et 64 DEG C environ. Le produit résultant, dont l'aire spécifique est comprise entre 10 m<2>/g et 120 m<2>/g environ, est utile dans la fabrication des peintures, des matières plastiques, des supports de couchage du papier, des agents de charge pour papier ainsi que dans les applications pharmaceutiques.
