Abstract

L'invention concerne un polynucléotide (mcp-4) qui assure l'identification et le codage d'une nouvelle protéine 4 ayant une activité chimiotactique sur les monocytes (MCP-4), exprimée dans les cellules du pancréas d'un sujet à diabète non insulinodépendant sucré. On décrit par ailleurs des molécule antisens, des vecteurs d'expression obtenus par génie génétique ainsi que des cellules hôtes pour la production de MCP-4 purifiées. On décrit aussi des anticorps, des antagonistes et des inhibiteurs assurant spécifiquement la liaison de MCP-4 ainsi que des compositions pharmaceutiques et des procédés de traitement reposant sur le polypeptide considéré, y compris les antagonistes et les inhibiteurs de ce polypeptide. On décrit spécifiquement l'utilisation du polypeptide pour le contrôle positif lié à des tests de diagnostic qui permettent aussi d'identifier l'expression mcp-4 modifiée. Les tests en question font appel à des compositions diagnostiques élaborées à partir de séquences polynucléotidiques à codage mcp-4 ou complémentaires, y compris des oligomères, et à partir d'anticorps anti-MCP-4.
