Abstract
L'invention concerne un commutateur optique présentant un premier guide d'ondes d'entrée (12) et un second guide d'ondes d'entrée (14), un premier guide d'ondes de sortie (16) et un second guide d'ondes de sortie (18), et des dispositifs de commutation contrôlables, permettant de relier sélectivement le premier guide d'ondes d'entrée (12) au second guide d'ondes de sortie (18), le second guide d'ondes d'entrée (14) au premier guide d'ondes de sortie (16), ou le premier guide d'ondes d'entrée (12) au premier guide d'ondes de sortie (16) et le second guide d'ondes d'entrée (14) au second guide d'ondes de sortie (18). Les dispositifs de commutation comportent deux guides d'ondes d'interconnexion croisés (36, 38) et deux boucles (26, 32) ou deux autres guides d'ondes de liaison (82, 90) courbés, ainsi que quatre coupleurs (42, 46, 52, 56) et éventuellement quatre autres coupleurs (84, 86, 88, 92) dans lesquels se crée à chaque fois un état empêchant le passage des ondes lumineuses.
