Abstract

L'invention concerne une configuration de dispersion des sites de liaison hydrogène sur une surface de glace qui est utilisée comme modèle pour la conception, la sélection et la fabrication d'interfaces dopants de la glace synthétique. Ces dopants d'interface sont des molécules qui, liées à la surface d'un cristal de glace inhibent l'incorporation de nouvelles molécules d'eau dans le cristal. Ils inhibent donc la croissance des cristaux de glace, la recristalisation et la sublimation. Ils peuvent aussi inhiber les agents de nucléation hétérogènes, et donc retarder voire empêcher la nucléation de la glace. Certaines structures dopantes permettent de réaliser des liaisons au sein de la glace presque parfaites, tout en étant parfaitement adaptables à toute une gamme d'applications spécialisées de liaison de la glace. L'orientation orbitale permet d'orienter les orbitales de paires isolées d'atomes de liaison de la glace dans le dopant d'interface et d'obtenir ainsi un alignement angulaire optimal avec les sites de liaisons complémentaires sur la glace.
