Abstract

In a process for monitoring the tightness of pipelines (1), in particular sewage pipeline systems, one or several control channels (3) or tubular openings are arranged in the wall (2) of the pipeline (1) in its longitudinal direction. The mutually facing ends of the pipelines (1) are interconnected so that the mutually facing ends of the control channels (3) or tubular openings are tightly interconnected. The interconnected control channels (3) or tubular openings form a closed pressure chamber for the whole pipeline system. The control channels (3) or tubular openings are filled with a test medium (7) under static pressure, pressure measurement means (10) are associated with the control channels (3) or tubular openings, and a leakage (11) in the area of a sleeve (4) or wall (2) of the pipeline (1) is detected when the pressure of test medium (7) falls between two measuring points (E).

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY
OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Method for monitoring the tightness of pipelines (1), in particular sewer line systems, characterized in that one or more monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings are arranged in the wall (2) of the pipeline (1) along its longitudinal extent, in that the mutually facing ends of neighbouring pipelines (1) are joined to one another such that the mutually facing ends of the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings are tightly joined, in that the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings joined to one another form, for the entire pipeline system, a pressure chamber which is closed or provided with a defined opening provided at the end of the system, in that the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings are filled with a test medium (7) under static pressure, in that the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings are assigned means (10) for measuring the pressure, and in that a leak (11) in the region of a sleeve (4) or of the wall (2) of the pipeline (1) is determined by a drop in the pressure of the test medium (7) between two measuring points (E).
2. Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the test medium (7) is compressed to the desired static pressure, and the pressure of the test medium (7) is reduced to a starting value (A) downstream of a pump (F) which compresses the medium (7), which is a gas or a liquid.
3. Method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings arranged in the outer wall (2) of the pipeline (1) break or are destroyed together with the pipeline (1).
4. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that, in the state of rest, the pressure is essentially the same at all points of the pipelines (1a, 1b; 1c).
5. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the measuring range for measuring and/or reducing the pressure of the test medium (7) is extended by a second nozzle (12) which can be connected in parallel with a first nozzle (9) and/or measuring section.
6. Method according to Claim 4 or 5, characterized in that the pressure of the test medium (7) in the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings is higher than the pressure of the sewage in the interior (16) of the pipeline (1).
7. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that, as test medium (7), use is made, continuously or only in the case of damage, of a gas or a liquid which reacts with media present outside the monitored pressure chamber, or with sealing material, so as to produce a sealing, cementing mass which rectifies relatively small defects.
8. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the pressure chamber is not completely closed, but rather has a defined opening through which a small volumetric flow of test gas (7) continuously escapes.
9. Method according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that hoses or thin tubes (24) are arranged in the walls (23) and/or in the floor (29) of a shaft (22) such that they serve as monitoring channels (3) for monitoring the shaft (22).
10. Device for carrying out the method according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that provision is made of pipelines (1a, 1b; 1c) which have sleeves (4) and outer walls (2), of monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings inside the outer wall (2) of the pipelines (1a, 1b; 1c), of a pump (P) or a compressor for the test medium (7), of a first nozzle (9) and/or a measuring section and measuring points (E) with means (10) for measuring the pressure.
11. Device according to Claim 10, characterized in that, for the purpose of extending the measuring range, a second nozzle (12) is provided connected in parallel with the first nozzle (9) and/or measuring section.
12. Device according to Claim 10, characterized in that the means (10) for measuring the pressure are pressure gauges or pressure sensors.
13. Device according to one of Claims 10 to 12, characterized in that the pump (P) or the compressor for the test medium (7) has a low power.
14. Device according to one of Claims 10 to 13, characterized in that the monitoring channels (3) are manufactured from glass or similar thermally loadable, breakable material.
15. Device according to one of Claims 10 to 14, characterized in that the number of monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings which are provided in the outer wall (2) of the pipeline (1) can be determined empirically and/or can be prescribed.
16. Device according to Claim 15, characterized in that three or more monitoring channels (3a2, 3a2, 3a2) or tubular openings are provided.
17. Device according to one of Claims 10 to 16, characterized in that the monitoring channels (3) or tubular openings have a diameter of less than 10 mm, in particular 3 mm.
18. Device according to one of Claims 10 to 17, characterized in that the monitoring channels (3) are monitoring chambers (26).
19. Method for producing a device according to one of Claims 10 to 18, characterized in that the tubular openings (3) in the outer wall (2) of the pipeline (1) are produced by inserting small flexible hose-like tubelets or rigid rods of small diameter into the damp pipeline (1) and removing the small hose-like tubelets or rigid rods after the pipeline (1) has dried or set.
