Abstract

Compounds including one or more oligosaccharides each of which is covalently bonded to one or more, particularly one, two or three, molecules, matrices or particles, by means of an intermediate molecule having a nitrogen atom on an .alpha. carbon of a C=O group and one or more, particularly one, two or three, functional groups, the covalent bond between said intermediate molecule and the oligosaccharide being via said nitrogen atom, and the covalent bond between said intermediate molecule and said molecule(s), matrix(-ces) or particle(s) being via said functional group(s) of said intermediate molecule and suitable functional groups on said molecule(s), matrix(-ces) or particle(s).Compounds including one or more oligosaccharides each of which is covalently bonded to one or more, particularly one, two or three, molecules, matrices or particles, by means of an intermediate molecule having a nitrogen atom on an .alpha. carbon of a C = O group and one or more, particularly one, two or three, functional groups, the covalent bond between said intermediate molecule and the oligosaccharide being via said nitrogen atom, and the covalent bond between said intermediate molecule and said molecule ( s), matrix (-ces) or particle (s) being via said functional group (s) of said intermediate molecule and suitable functional groups on said molecule (s), matrix (-ces) or particle (s).
