ELECTRICAL DEVICES, AND INSTALLATION METHOD
The present invention relates to an element of connection between one or more corrugated protection tubes electrical cables and one or more male connectors or females mounted at the end of electrical cables.
The invention also relates to the installation method of such a forming element, at the rear part of the or connectors, a formwork allowing the molding of a sealing plug in thermoplastic synthetic material or thermosetting.
Corrugated tubes, i.e. those whose shape looks like ~ a succession of rings connected to each other others are usually made of plastic such than extruded polypropylene. These tubes allow the creation of bundles of protective sheaths electrical wires or cables within a building or automotive, especially in the engine compartment which is known to be a particularly hot environment and dusty. Indeed, given the small space available, these ducts or pipes must be able to follow very close to the non-rectilinear walls and bypass the different bodies encountered. With such tubes, you can precisely realize tight curves without them warp inward or break. The section of these tubes are usually circular, but can also be elliptical, rectangular or other.
To make such networks easily and efficient, we use fixing and / or fitting parts taking advantage of the ringed appearance of these tubes to ensure longitudinal locking. Such parts are, for example, known from documents US 3,711,633 or US 4,443,031.

In addition, at the connectors electrical cables mounted at the ends of electrical cables, provides for the molding of a plastic plug between cables and connector input to provide sealing against fluids and dust which may tamper with the metal contacts of the connector. This cap also maintains, to some extent, the cables in the connector to prevent unwanted removal breaks contact.
lo However, it is necessary to use a special synthetic material, preferably black, which resists external aggressions present in the environment of an engine compartment. For this, we are currently obliged to take over bundles out of the wiring table to achieve this overmolding in a press specially adapted to the mold designed for this operation. It is also necessary to install thereafter an additional connecting piece of protection between the plug and the corrugated tube. These operations are particularly tedious, requiring the implementation work of important materials, which affects the cost of finished parts.
The object of the present invention is to obviate the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a connection fitting between a corrugated tube and the inlet of a connector, this fitting ensuring an effective seal while being simple installation, especially on the wiring table.
These goals are achieved by a fitting comprising a lower shell hingedly connected ~ a upper cover with multiple walls notches defining, once the lid is closed over the shell, at least one opening for a corrugated tube and a opening for an electrical connector, as well as means holding the cover in the closed position, because the shell and / or cover have an internal wall ~ WO 95/04394 216 7 ~ 2 ~ PCTnB94 / 00213 dividing the interior space of the fitting into two chambers, one first including the opening (s) provided for the or corrugated tubes, a second comprising the one or more openings for the electrical connector (s), this 5 wall having one or more passages for the electric cables, the second chamber further comprising minus a plastic injection port thermoplastic or thermosetting and an opposite opening of excess material.
The installation process for such a fitting is then boils down to:
- connect the electric cables to the contacts metallic connector, - install the corrugated tube and the connector in the corresponding holes of the hull while passing the cables in the passages of the internal wall, - close the cover over the shell and inject plastic with a gun thermoplastic or thermosetting through the hole injection into the second chamber until a surplus of material comes out of the discharge opening.
According to a preferred embodiment, the edge of joint between the lower shell and the cover of the second bedroom has a baffle in the form of a net protruding from settling in a groove, so avoid an unsightly lateral overflow of material synthetic, and to ensure a more complete filling of the chamber before the material leaves the orifice evacuation.
Advantageously, the injection opening is located, in the second ch ~ mhre, in the middle of the hull close to the inner wall, and the discharge opening is in the middle of the notch of the same shell or, conversely, in the middle of the notch on the cover.

The invention will be better understood ~ the study of a embodiment by way of example in no way limiting and described by the figures appended in which:
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a fitting according to the invention, - Figures 2 A, B, C and D are respectively front, top, back and bottom views of the fitting Figure 1.
The connector according to the invention comprises a shell lower 10-14 illustrated on the right side of the figure 1 connected, by a thin material bridge 25 serving as hinge, to a cover 11-15 illustrated on the left side of this same figure 1. An internal partition 17 of the shell in relationship with an internal partition 13 of the cover separates the connection in two rooms: a first front chamber designed to receive the end of a corrugated and composed tube a lower half-shell 14 and a half-cover higher 15; and a second anterior chamber provided for receive the rear opening of an electrical connector and composed of a lower half-shell 10 and a half top cover 11.
The front part of the shell and the cover has a notch 18 in an arc, in this case semi-circular, of diameter equal to the diameter of the tube between two grooves so that this front part grips and locks a groove in the tube. To facilitate a preliminary positioning in this room, the half lower front shell 14 has a clip 12, the half front cover 15 having corresponding housing 16, or conversely the clip belonging to the half-cover upper provided with the hook, the recess being then found on the lower shell.
The anterior wall of the half-shell 10 and the half-cover 11 forming the second chamber each has WO9S / 04394 21 ~ 7 ~ 2 9 PCT ~ B94100213 a notch 19 in an arc, in this case semi-circular circular which, once the cover is folded back on the hull, constitutes a circular opening closing on the rear part, in other words on the nape of the neck, of a connector electric not shown. The internal diameter of this second chamber exceeds the external diameter of the part rear of the connector from 3 to 8 millimeters approximately. In this second chamber are provided with ribs 31, 34, 35 and 36 of connector pre-positioning. Of course, the notch 19 resumes the shape of the nape of the connector and can therefore also be elliptical, if necessary rectangular or other.
The internal partition 17 has several passages 28 for electrical cables leaving the tube and passing through the fitting to enter the connector.
As illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the holding the cover in closed position against the shell is done by hooks. More specifically, a hook 40 formed in the side face of the half-cover anterior 11 enters a loop 42 formed in correspondence in the side wall of the half-shell anterior 10. The frontal parts being smaller, one then provides two hooks 44 on the half-cover 15 penetrating into two loops 46 formed in correspondence in the side walls of the front half-shell 14.
The invention is not however limited to this mode of locking as illustrated, the hooks may belong ~ the lower shell or, alternatively, these hooks being replaced by clips passing over the other room.
More particularly, and as well illustrated on Figure 1, the joint plane of the second chamber includes a baffle, that is to say that a protruding net 20 is made on the edge of the half-shell 10, this net being designed to penetrate a groove 22 formed in correspondence on the edge of the cover 11.

2 ~ 7 ~ 2 ~ 6 ~
In addition and as better visible on FIGS. 2B and 2D, an injection orifice 52 is provided at the middle of the front half-shell 10 close to the wall 17.
In addition, an additional notch 50 is provided in the middle of the notch 19 of this same anterior half-shell lO, this additional notch constituting a drainage channel for matter as will be explained later.
As described, the connector according to the invention is installed as follows.
The end of the cables passing through the corrugated tube being connected to the metal contacts of a connector electric, install the corrugated tube in the half-shell lower 14 thanks to the clip 12 while passing the or cables through passages 28. The connector can then also be installed in the front half-shell 10 before closing and locking over the cover 11-15, which already maintains position the connector relative to the tube. The operator can then point in the orifice 52 a heat gun for inject, under low pressure, a thermoplastic material or thermosetting in the second bedroom. The internal partition 13-17 prevents this molten material from rising inside the tube. This injection continues until as matter begins ~ come out through the orifice evacuation 50 marking a correct filling. We can also use a volumetric injecting gun, on a trigger pulse, strictly necessary volume predetermined.
This second ch ~ hre 10-11 of the fitting according the invention therefore acts as a formwork during the realization of the sealing plug at the rear of the connector electric, this plug having a desired shape, and this with a just the right amount of thermoplastic material. Of more, this plug of thermoplastic material found protected by this formwork left permanently, it is possible ~ W095 / 04394 ~ 7 ~ 2 9 PCT / ~ 94/00213 7 ~ -consider the use of other thermoplastics than those used so far: especially presenting colors other than black, or with increased electrical insulation characteristics at the expense of stiffness and / or heat resistance characteristics, these new materials preferably being cheaper purchase. The formwork also constitutes a shell which protects the tight plug of cuts or other attacks mechanical.
It will also be noted that the connector according to the invention saves space since the plug of the electrical connector and its connection with the corrugated tube is made in the same place.
Many improvements can be made ~ This connection within the scope of the claims.
