Abstract
PERSONAL PORTABLE STEAM SAUNA
ABSTRACT
This invention relates to improvements in personal portable steam bath for household use.
ABSTRACT
This invention relates to improvements in personal portable steam bath for household use.
Description
2~7,~7 PERSONAL PORTABLE ST ~ SAUNA
SPECIFICATION
Be it kno~n that I, PAUL J. BOISVERT, have invented a new and usefull improvement entitled "PERSONAL PORTABLE STEAM SAUNA".
It is a portable and collapsible compact sauna bath, of which the following is a specification:
Ihis invention relates to improvements in personal portable steam bath for household use.
An object of this invention is to provide a portable and collap-sible steam sauna eXcremely simple and economical and also of lightweight construction, which may be used in any conventicnal bathtub. This compact sauna will take a minimum of room when not in use, for ease of storing same.
A further object of this invention is to provide a steam unit which is completely controled by the user, thereby eliminating the necessity for the attendance or presence of any other person.
An important object of this invention is to provide the required steam without any electrical current, and of such construction which can be set-up in a minimum of time and effort, which does not produce a cramped-in feeling of the person in the sauna bath.
This invention relates to the art of relaxation and wellbeing feeling for women, men and children.
As conductive to an understanding of the invention, it is noted that the generally beneficial effect of inducing perspiration, by the application of heat to the body, is well known. To obtain required steam in a most practical and economical way is by the process of dripping hot water through a multi-perforated re-ceptacle.

Also notice that said cape 8 has two openings 11 on each side of the slide fastener to enable the hands, once outside the cape 8, to specially control the hot water faucet 10, which automatically gives the flow and density of the hot steam produced by the receptacle 2 of this apparatus 24.
This cape 8 has an adjustable neck band 13, a slide fastener 12 which opens from neck down to the knees, and said cape 8 is long enough to reach the floor of the bathtub 9, thus maintaining inside all hot vapours.
The bathtub 9, in which this Personal Portable Steam Sauna, is installed is generally supplied with a hot water control faucet 15 to which the funnel 18 is attached see FIG. 7. These two attachments are maintained in place by a self-attached band 14 in FIG. 7.
This figure of the opened apparatus shows the rectangular base receptacle 1, the steam producing basin 2, the seat 3, the back seat 4, the two folding bars 5 - 5, and the prop holding the hose-pipe 16, in FIG. 8.
FIG. 3 -This figure shows that once the said Personal Portable Steam Sauna is collapsed same is inserted in the storage case in FIG.
5, then the folded cape 8 can be placed on top.
When this storage case in FIG. 5 is closed and locked, it looks like any other travelling case which means it is secure, neat, easy to handle and light enough to carry by hand, on vacation or on a business trip.
FIG. 4 -This figure shows said Personal Portable Steam Sauna completely collapsed.

~ .'?~ 7 FIG. 5 -This figure shows the storage case 5 specially designed to hold said sauna apparatus and cape 8.
FIG. 6 -This figure shows the special funnel 18, with a stiff base 20 to be inserted into the tubular extension hose 7, the braket exten-sion 19 which goes under the faucet 15, in FIG. 7 and attached to same by a self-adhesive band 14.
FIG. 7 ~
This figure shows the special funnel 18, in FIG. 6, attached to the faucet 15 and held in place by a self-adhesive band 14.
FIG. 8 -Is a perspective view of said steam producing basin 2 with its multi-perforated bottom 17, a tubular prop 16, which holds the hose-pipe 7 that is connected to the bathtub's faucet 15.
FIG. 9 -This figure shows the rectangular base receptacle 1 which is divided in two sections. The front part of said receptacle 1 is equiped with a removable grating 21 that can be used as a footrest. The back section 22 is reserved to store rolled-up hose-pipe 7 which also includes the special funnel 18. This operation precedes folding-up of said apparatus.
FIG. 10 -Is a perspective view of the seat 3 which is specially contoured to allow the maximum steam for the effectiveness of said PERSONAL
PORTABLE STEAM SAUNA.

Claims (6)
1 -I claim as my invention a personal unit portable and lightweight which contains a complete apparatus specially designed to give enjoyment and wellbeing feeling to anyone. A perfect sauna bath effective on demand, in a few minutes at home, on vacation and all that is required is a bathtub with a hot water faucet.
The importance of this invention lies with the simple fact that this whole apparatus fits into a lightweight mini-storage case.
The importance of this invention lies with the simple fact that this whole apparatus fits into a lightweight mini-storage case.
2 -I claim as my invention a steam producing basin, with a multi-perforated bottom, which permits that the dripping hot water creates enough vapours to have a sauna bath, and this can be accomplished without any energy whatsoever. This is the reason that this sauna is so secure, lightweight and very efficient.
3 -I claim as my invention the folding seat, in the form of a "U"
which is open half way in the center and towards the front, thus leaving more space to draw up hot vapours produced by the steam basin which is suspended underneath the seat. Said seat is permanently anchored to the rectangular base receptacle.
which is open half way in the center and towards the front, thus leaving more space to draw up hot vapours produced by the steam basin which is suspended underneath the seat. Said seat is permanently anchored to the rectangular base receptacle.
4 -I claim as my invention the funnel specially designed to be adapted to most bathtubs' faucets, and with its lateral ex-tension necessary to attach same to the faucet and maintained in place by a self-adhesive band.
5 -I claim as my invention the rectangular base receptacle which is divided in two sections. The front section is equiped, on the bottom of the receptacle, of a removable grating which offers protection and also acts as a footrest against the accumulating hot water, which is drained through holes in the front of the receptacle and by the drain-pipe in said bathtub. The back section is reserved to store rolled-up hose-pipe, which also includes the special funnel.
6 -I claim as my invention the cape which encloses the body of the person as an integral part of this sauna system. It is made of an isolated plastic fabric, can be zipped from knees to neck, thus leaving the head clear out. The user can breathe easily the surrounding cool and fresh air and as far as women are con-cerned, hairdos and make-up remain intact. In this way, a person cannot suffocate from the hot vapours, and can also stand much more heat and for a longer period of time and this adds an im-portant element of efficiency for this sauna bath. This cape comes with openings on each side of the central slide fastener, to facilitate the passage, from inside to outside, of the person's hands to control the density of the hot vapours through the hot water faucet.
