Dans le cao off, localement, lote du premier contact entre le moule annulaire et la feuille de verxe, une partie ~d do salle-ci dépaae~ nettement du moule, on peut prévoir de positionner ~i cet endroit sur le moule un d6lleoteur, pro-longaant le moule vers l'extérieur selon as courbure d~
celui-ei.

Then the sheet of glass thus rained or less pre-formed can then be deposited $ eo in a well known manner also on a curved profile corm open in the center, called more successively annular mold, before being evacuated on said annular mold towards the thermistue quenching sounds.
This quenching consists in sending, from two actions arranged below and above the sheet of glass, jets of cooling gas approximately per-pendulumally on both sides of said sheet.
This type of annular mold is commonly equipped with a reaétement spbcilique ~ ment adapted 8 no type of quenching and constraints it imposes. Indeed, we must, additionally withstand temperatures between 650 and 800 ~ C and do not mark the green, especially breathable, so as not to obstruct traffic pressure cooling from both sides and on the other side of the leaf will see. Indeed, the projected air6 of the aaiaaon of lower tempering compared to the annular mold supporting 1s sheet must be able to flow equally tangents ~ ilement along the surface of aontao :, between this mold and excavation, so that it is only around the edge of the leaf also sees a correctly trer ~ p6, ae which implirgue enough mold permeable to allow a set flow.
Various coating provided for these quenching frames are known in the art.
Usually, we propose a mesh with a fiber net relatively wide-meshed xéfractaires, of the order of at least minus one miilimiter do o8té, possibly, like the ~ pre-oonise the patent Us-4 906 271, by fixing the meshes by knots at the crossing points, so that ~~. '~~ i ~ -3 homegénéiser Ia rt ~ partiti6n of these crossing points, Which make up most of the contact points between ~
wheel and sheet coating.
Other types of process involve, for example piety or replace the bending by application against a full form pays descent on a hardening mold, a vee fair press of the leaf taken between the full farm above it and an annular bending mold in soft of her. Insofar as the pressing involves considerable mechanical forces and sudden tests to the glass sheet at its periphery supported by the annular mold, the coating of said annular mold must have very specific characteristics and different from those required for the coating of a quenching mold.
Indeed, it must present a certain mellowness, of so h soften ~ .r maximum contact with the sheet glass and h erase any slight imperfections of mold shape. Z1 must also be relatively deformed ble st extenaibhe, so that palets easily fix it by stretching it on the mold for example by pinnes or hooks. It must be able to absorb dust Which could be found at the moulevieuille interface in thus hiding proof of a certain porosity, so that these dust does not mark the surface of the softened glass.
He must also, of course, not mark himself the glass by ea own supergioial texture. He must therefore be of a fairly dense and tight texture, texture that pre-particularly smell the ablraceous knitwear set out in patent FR-A-2 614 156 and which makes it possible to obtain hold a contact surface with the glass sheet 1a as smooth and smooth as possible. So, during the sliding recounted! between the glass sheet and the annular mold, we 3 Avoid risk of marks on the glass sheet, no-particularly in the shape of qrifters. During the pres $ aQe properly says between the solid form and the annular mold, we spread also such ~ risking, ensuring a gentle ocrntaat and smoothly between glass and annular mold.
~~ v ~ i ~ 3 But this type of revitation, precisely because of this textur ~ dense, this then incompatible with use as rev8tem ~ nt for quenching mold because, comma on 1 ° saw previously, it does not allow effective quenching of the around the basting of your by opposing the flow ~ -tancential cooling air.
Darse this caa, it is then n3cesaa ~ ire to use for the tr ~ mpe and for pressing two annular molds having coatings of different natures, Main this involves an additional step of exchange of molds, with all the synchronization prabièmes and increase d ~ cycle time had this poses.
The authors of the present invention have sought to develop an annular mold with a cone surface tact atveo the ~ sheet of glass is likely to be suitable 8 at a time for! S bombnge, notably by praaAaç ~ e, at for thermal air quenching.
We could consider carrying out the operation of pressing the glass sheet with the designed frame and ro lits the thermal quenching operation, but it remains a compromise, which is not tolerable from the point of view of the optical quality of glazing obtained by sliding relative varre ~ annular mold 9 markers is tris limitd, that is to say in fact if the bvanbaqe D ~ confer Z5 with a sheet of glass is quite modest.
tTn type of annular mold "bifunctional" susceptible to be suitable for relatively pronounced bombings without marking sheets is ivoqu6 in the 1st patent 81 ~ -l ~ -373 992. In this case, it is an annular mold bearing a fixed part relative to the oadr. da support from mold and an articulated wing relative to 1 this party ~
fixed, which, when s xepliant during the presaqe against the shape full upper, garmat to destroy leaves of will locally heavily domed. T ~ a fixed part is covered a net i ~ fairly wide meshes allowing quenching, while the articulated wing is covered with a dense felt suitable for pressing. Lot 'de la tremye, the same annu-air ~ is used, but the wing is then in the off position folded, so I do not hoe soak it at the '~ ~ ° ~: ~ i ~
band heavily bombed with film! ~. So that means that this marginal area is left without support lare da la tempering. This situation is e ~ usceptibls to generate deformation $ parasites subsequent to pressing, and it is necessary to keep broken, for example at the level of the curvature of the annular annulus and ~ or amplitude ~ of said pressag ~ by the articulated alla, in order to obtain! s .product Final having the oourburo sought.
By its very convection, this mold cannot be used only if the heavily domed area desired is small and limited ~ a single c8tt of the leaf ~ of glass. Indeed, it is necessary that the leaf will see when quenching is supported by '.: a fixed part which is sufficiently important for avoid sagging, said fixed part being by garlic their little curled and covered with a quenching cloth, the pressing as mainly by the articulated wing.
This mold therefore is not suitable for glazing of the com form plex, presenting for example curvatures according to dir different rections ~ nearly two of Their oppasgs borda at adjaa ~ ~ ate.
By taking a close look at ~ how does the bending of a sheet of glass by pressing, around the invention were able to assess the following phenomena, related to the r_elati movement! entered the glass sheet ~ and the mold annular during the pressing operation, Before the start of prersaQe, the glass sheet is plans, or possibly partially curved during a prb ~ previous form by applying the sheet against the upper shape of the curved plion. But in a rad like in the other, it is less vvurbbe than art borders of the lower annular mold seen radially, said edge perfectly fitting the curvature of the upper shape full. The outline of the sheet therefore overflows from the mold an-nulaire. The first contact between the sheet and the mold annular milk thus between the outer periphery of the mold and part of the localized glass sheet, which does not correspond to the outermost periphery of it.
iv The sheet is then gradually preaa ~ e by relative approximation between the lower annular mold and the higher form. The verrilla leaf has therefore grown more and more. The aurtae ~ of the glass sheet in contact with the annular mold of a paxt widens progress-on the other hand, moves around the edge the more outside of the sheet. The mold contact surface annular with the leaf, as for ~ alla, widens symmetrically tric and ee moves vara the periphery most irtbrieur 14 of the mold. Overall, there is a shift relative radial of the periphery of the sheet relative to 1 la width of the edge of the annular mold.
1 ~ 1a end of pressing, the sheet oomplëtement wife the radial curvature of the edge of the annular mold. She is alaxs in contact on the one hand by any aa face s updrieure aven the full form, and on the other hand by 1s perimeter ex-the inside face with this makes the pouxtour inside of the annular wheel.
The authors of the invention then took advantage of these obmervationa, in order to be able to offer a mold annular which may be suitable for faith ~ pessation and Air quenching of glass sheets.
They indeed realized that it was during the slide rmlatif which operates during the pressago that exists a qxand risk of marking the glass sheet, asontally while the glass sheet set in contact suas 1r for-outer ring mold, and osai is all more true at the very beginning of the glass / mold contact, where the tion of the vexx sheet ~ which came into contact with the moula eo ~ t of very reduced surface ~ and must support then of waxes mechanical pressures localiaéer ~.
The authors then proposed to use the perimeter inside the annular mold as a support support f ~ auille da glass during tempering, then adapting only the outer periphery of it h the operation paceasage, or more precisely to the sliding operation relative previously explioiti which prelude to the pressing nal, or any other bending operation, in particular by simple inertia, which induces this type of relative displacement verrc / moul ~ annulaire.
In the presentation of the following invention, we will use for more convenience ~ also the term "pressing"
to designate this first phase of relative sliding of the molded annular. compared to glass.
The invention consisted of a device for bamboo / tempering of glass sheets worn ~ 1 their temperature erasure of ramo111 $ sement in view of their bombing ~ t of their quenching, comprising upper bending means, no-tamm ~ nt a solid top form, and an annular mold interior on which the glass sheets are deoxidized and with respect to which the edge of said sheets re moves from does deformation, in particular by prea ~ ace horizontal between the upper bending means st 1a moula infi-rieuxs, and means of quenching where the curved leaves are tempered in air with air the memo mold an-nulaire. This annular mold is designed so that only its contact surface with the glass sheets at the start 29 of their deformation on the mold, lying on the pros-outside tower of said mold, or adapted to displacement snns mark of will see on said mold, and manüxe ~ ce that, pax oontre, said surface oontaot i at the end of the placement, especially at the end of the proasaçe, lying on the inner periphery of said mold is suitable for tempering, In this way, the ma is advantageously eliminated.
jeure party ~ marking rfsquos, since the leaves meet an appropriate content surface, i.e.
smooth and smooth, when they undergo the initiation of bending by sliding. In addition, we still get a satisfactory quenching level at the periphery of the sheet, since at the end of movement of the glass relative in the mold, in particular by pressing, until the end of the opf-quenching ration, it finds itself in contact with a surface which is suitable for it, sufficiently permeable to air, so we only need one annu- lar mold milk, in particular a meula usually used for quenching, because this one usually has a width of significant edge which can be easily distinguished, the s ~~~~: ~ "~~ 3 two aforementioned story surfaces.
This allows an obvious gain in cadence, and therefore August, for final quality products. Cola allows no-In particular, by using such an annular mold, to reduce setting times. Indeed, any use of a annular mold requires manual riglagts fa ~ tidious, first of all to ensure the unity of the rural area contant aven 1s glass of said mold compared to 3.a gorme full, st sn additionally to ensure 1s positioning of this suriacs do contant in 1s hori $ ontal plan, that's what we usually 1s adjust the "plate" of the mold. in the case of the invention, instead of using two annular molds laires, one for bending, in particular 'by pressing, the other for tempering, only one remülse is used folding these sweet functions, bone that is afraid consequence of divide at least by two, ee which is far from being neglected geabl ~, all the related tempe da, and to win ~ n sirnpliaité.
D ~ invention applies ~ as well to u ~ n annular mold comprising an oontlnu rail, than an annular mold having a segmented rail aven for example to the monk a rear part ticulated mobile relative to the rest of the rail.
On year point, emerges an essential advantage of ~
the invention: Rn effect, in known manner, ~ from a certain level of curvature 1 locally confer a fsuü the do will see, it is necessary to operate a pressing with a: articular annular roll. In this way, by rotation around an ax ~ of the wing articulated relative to the mold rosie fixed, we manage to bend the leaves will see pronounced fapon avoiding this movement of glis-rement radial moulelvsrre generator ~ of risk of mar-quage. But this articulation system is ~ aired by a significantly more complex than a mold fixed, would be only because there are dice movements ~ aup-related to coordinate. Now, from the moment where, according to the invention, a non-annular mold is proposed artiaulS of maneuver had the relative movement mold / glass does not cause more marks thanks to a surface of contact studied, then we can go back a lot more ~~~~ '~~ 3 far the limit of the degree of curvature beyond which it a complex articulated annular mold must be used.
In addition, above this new limit, provided sant an articulated annular mold of the reversal according to the in ~ note, we can ~ ffecting bending $ event ~~ .lemant much more complex and / or pronounced due to those obtained usually by an articulated mold, sri decreasing strongly leg risks of marking throughout said mold gur 1e glass, gn ~ especially when the wing is relatively long compared to the rest of the mold.
We specify in raw aurcroft if it is particularly advantageous to apply the invention to a mold intended for a real yresaage operation between a top mold laughter and an inner ring mold, it can be applied a fortiori with the same success for annular loops provided in particular for bending under the first simple effect of gravitated. .
In the cao off, locally, lots of the first contact between the annular mold and the verx sheet, part ~ d do room depaae ~ clearly from the mold, we can provide place at this location on the mold a blower, pro-along the mold outwards according to the curvature of ~
ei it. We then naturally equip this deoiler contant liana surface allowing the sliding of the glass, fall especially the previous aurfaoe ~ nt evoked us the surface term adapted to presoaçe.
The annular mold contant surgaoes are obtained naked by juxtaposition, in particular by sewing, of two type of coating, one adaité with the relative displacement of verro sheets compared to the annular mold, in particular by pressing, and the other & quenching, the essential ~ that the overall contact surface of the ieuiilea and molded an-nular presents a level continuity, in order to avoid any risk of the leaf marking will see when it glean from one to the other of the coats. Likewise, ur ~ des two revbtemente can completely or partially cover the other, as long as the level continuity is exrently aaaurée.
The invention also relates to a material, in particular ~~
~ elder ~. ~, "~. ~ 3 1o deatin ~ to the coating for the annular mold supporting the wearing glass sheets when bending or tempering, said mak ~ riaupresenting dam, in particular two, struc-different types of ttasage or knitting juxtaposed, one that is dense and smooth in appearance for a story blood aspéritë ~ the other airy btant.
De priférenae, this material is designed to me ~ niira i ce raw its dense part has a permeability to ~ the air included between 1500 and 15000 and preferably between around 1000 and 10000, 1 "other part â structura series having ~ it a permiabiliti supirioure around 15000. The material is notananent ~ based on gals or fibers metallic refractories, e.g. stainless steel or nickel-chroma alloy. I1 can also include Eyes or non-metallic fibers, in particular of matbriau oiramiaue such as silica.
We can get it advantageously by a modification da knitting or weaving structure, is- ~ say manufacturing in a single step the different parts of said material, one dance, airy axis, modifying in bear of knitting or tissa9a has texture and / or its densith.
The invention also relates to an annular mold used to support glass sheets during their bending and their hardening, having in contact with ~ e vwrre sheets two juxtaposias surfaces, one self-grazing the glisaer ~ nt unmarked edges of the excavations of ~
glass on it, continued i ~ the deformation of the back sheets of glass in particular by pressing, the other allowing tempering thermal 8 air curved glass hardwood laid on ~ .e mold with intercalation of said coating.
c7n precise, from prifirenca, the surface of said revi-tally authorizing the relative sliding of the sheets of glass on the sana marque ring mold, in particular by pressaga, is glued to the mold.

To give an order of magnitude for the relative widths vea de aso two bands, an can give the following example if you wanted to cover an annular mold with a width of edge of 60 mrn, we can punch a banda adapted to the dd-relative glass / mold placement, especially for preasaçe with a width of 52 mm and a lice band which is tempered with a width do B mm.
We actually determine these rolatlvsa widths.
