Abstract
ABSTRACT
To prevent unintentional actuation of a single-lever mixer comprising a fitting body with a water outlet part and a pivoting, tilting control lever mounted on the fitting body, the control part (13) is adapted to the profile of the water outlet part (11) of the fitting body (10) so that in the non-use position of the control lever (13), the control lever and the water outlet part (11) form a single visual unit.

SINGLE ~EVER MIXING FIXTURE
Descrlption The invention relates to a slngle le~er mixing fixture with a fixture body having a water outlet part and with a control lever that is pivotably and tiltably arranged at the fixture body.
A single lever mixing fixture of the aforementioned kind i9 known from German Patent 26 22 179 in which the water outlet part of the fixture body and the control lever are arranged spacially separated from one another so that the shaping of the two parts is different and a distance is present between the two parts. With th~8 embodiment it 19 disadvantageous that, for example, cleanlng of the slnk, respectlvely, of the flxture may lead to an accldental actuatlon of the control lever because the control lever is spaced from the flxture body and ls thus acces~lble from all directlons.
It is therefore an ob~ect of the invention to improve the single lever mixing fixture of the aforementloned kind such that an accldental actuatlon of the control lever is prevented.
The solution to this obJect including 206~6~
advantageous embodiments and developments may be taken from the contents of the claims which are appended to this description.
The invention is based on the basic concept that the shaping of the control lever should be conformed to the contour of the water outlet part of the fixture body such that the control lever in ~ts non-use position forms a visual unit with the water outlet part. This results in the advantage that the water outlet part with the control lever represents a compact unit which is not cleaned separately but only together. A further advantage is the low constructlve height of such a fixture with respect to its portion above the water outlet part.
According to embodiments of the invention the wldth or the length of the control lever may be sllghtly greater than the respective width or length of the water outlet part whereby a small pro~ection i8 sufficient for ensuring a sufficient engagement surface for the actuation of the control lever. A person actuating the fixture may grlp the control lever at its pro~ection past the water outlet portion and thus activate the control lever for ad~usting the water outflow with 2 0 ~ a respective pivoting or tilting movements.
Furthermore, it may be provided with the invention that the control lever in its non-use position rests on the water outlet part. However, the invention also encompasses the feature that a small distance between the two components is provided, however, th~s distance may not be so great that a visual division of the water outlet part and the control lever results. The respective distance may, for example, be acting only as a desiyn-provlding separatlon line whereby, due to the arrangement of such a space, the accessibility of the control lever during handling may be improved.
According to the inventlon lt ls further provlded that the control lever i8 positioned in a respective recess at the top surface of the flxture whereby lt 18 ensured that the control lever 1~ accesslble for handling by providing a pro~ection.
In the drawing one embodiment of the invention is represented which will be described in the following. The only figure shows a slngle lever mixing fixture in a side view.
The mixlng flxture has a flxture body 10 ln 2~6~
which water connections (not repreæented) as well as a controllable cartridge (not re~resented) for controlling the water flow are arranged. A water outlet part 11 with a water outlet 12 pro~ects from the fixture body lO.
An actuation mechanism 14 is placed on the fixture body lO via which in a known, not further represented manner control elements positioned within the fixture body lO may be controlled for ad~usting the water flow. The control lever 13 is connected to the actuating mechanism or control part 14, whereby the shape of the control lever 13 i8 ln conformity with the contour of the water outlet part 11 and, ln the represented embodiment, has a sllghtly greater length than the water outlet part 11. Thus, a small pro~ectlon 15 results whlch provldes the polnt of engagement for the actuatlon of the control lever 13 for activating the water flow.
The control lever 13 together wlth the actuatlng mechanism 14 may also be provlded as a slngle component (not represented) which 18 connected to the flxture body lO wlth the water outlet part 11.
