Abstract

THE NEW POLYMER SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING FINE AND PAPER RETENTION
AND DRAINAGE ON PULP AND PAPER MACHINE

ABSTRACT
This invention relates to a completely new polymer system for this application, that can be used with an enhancer, to improve fine and fiber retention and drainage on pulp and paper machine.
The fine and fiber retention can be achieved for kraft, sulphite (high and low yield), bisulphite, mechanical, OPCO, BTCMP, TCMP, BCMP, hard wood, such as oak, birch, maple, elm, wild-cherry, and TMP pulps and any mix in any proportion of two or more types of pulp.

Description

s THE NEW POLYMER SYSTEM FOR IMPROVIN _FINE AND PAPER RETENTION
AND DRAINAGE ON PULP AND PAPER MACHINE

DISCLOSURE
In accordance with a broad aspect of the present invention, a resultant a significant improve of fine and fiber retention and drainage on pulp and paper machine is achieved by using a system formed by a polyacrylamide and an enhancer.
It is mentioned that enhancers such as natrium, kalium, ammonium, calcium or aluminium, salts of naphtalene sulphonate and/or polyacrylates can be used together with polyacrylamide.
It has been found that also a synergetic mixture of natrium with kalium, ammonium, calcium, aluminium salt of naphtalene sulphonate and/or polyacrylates can be used in conjunction with a polyacrylamide type.
Application points are the followings: any washer, thickener, save-all, disc filter or drum filter in any pulp making process - any pulp machine, board machine or paper machine in the production sector - any clarifier on flottation or fiber separation unit in the effluent treatment process, including krofta, posseidon, sedimentation clarifier, but not limited to these - any equipment used in the deinking process, included or not above.
