Abstract

Disclosed is a process for preparing an isobutylene-type allyl-terminated polymer, the process comprising mixing:
(A) a cationically polymerizable isobutylene-containing monomer;
(B) an organic compound serving as an initiator and concurrently as a chain transfer agent, the organic compound being represented by the formula (I) (C) at least one Lewis acid selected from the group consisting of (C2H5)2A~C~, (C2H5)A~C~2, SnC~4 and TiC~4; and (D) a compound serving as an end capping agent, the compound being represented by the formula (II)
