(ss. 21,31,34 and 142) ABSTRACT
In a tool for adjusting aircraft shielded or non-shielded, four prong or two prong plug, that is used in gas field compressor engines. It has been known to use pliers and feeler gauges and wire gauges to set spark plug gaps for new or used plugs.
However, in this invention, we simply screw on a hand nut which centers over the vertical center electrodes, at the same time a tapered bevel surrounds the outside electrodes, 4 or 2 of them, squeezing the outer electrode toward the center. With different sizes of center barrel this tool can set spark plugs accurately

It ls a lndustrlal and alrcraft, non-shlelded or shlelded automatic spark plug gapper and spreader. For the use of two prong or four prong spark plugs wlth vertlcal center electrodes, and outer ground electrodes used in various engines in the natural gas fleld.
It is a hand held device, simply by twistinq effort the spark plug can elther be gapped or spread to a larger plug gap lf so deslred.
This unit overcomes the past difficulties and lnconveniences of previous practices such as when using a wlre gauge and pliers It does not scratch or break center electrodes or bend outer electrodes out of shape. It cuts time down to three seconds per spark plug, because it sets four outside electrodes at the same tlme. Thls tool ls hand held, portable and; llght to carry around. You do not need a vice to hold the tool~ or the plug to work on lt.

Step 2~ Choose desired center barrel or gap slze.
Step 3. Slide into main barrel. N~DW YOU are ready to use tool.
Step 4. Slide center barrel over center electrode s~uarely.
Step 5. Turn outside hand barrel over threads of spark plug untll seated, continue to turn untll rçsistance ls felt.
Step 6. Unscrçw. Plug ls set.
The same procedure i9 used for spreading ~ap.

Claims (10)
1. Twisting the tool over the spark plug.
2. Different size of center barrel
3. The taper in the center barrel pushes electrodes down.
4. Hand held tool.
5. Centers the electrodes.
6. Sets outer electrodes at the same time.
7. Gaps Type H and Type N shielded and non-shielded spark plugs.
8. Protects spark plug end when dropped or in storage.
9. Spreads spark plug gap for larger gap requirements.
10. Can be used to set other plugs (automotive) by simple alteration.
