The use of Electromagnetic Fields of Intensities Above Background for Purifying Soil and Similar Contaminated Substances.
Professor Tomas Kopecek and Dr. Drahoslav Pravda CSc.
Brno, Czechoslovakia.
Abstract.
The object of this invention is a method of acellerating bio-degradation processes in soil and similar substances. The method involves the combination of an electromagnetic field obtained for example by feromagnetic targets and introducing a direct current of needed intensity.
Based on their working experience in the domain of biomagnetology the authors of this invention found and perfected a new method which allows them to incite and accelerate self cleansing or biodegradation processes in the soil and other media burdened with the presence of heavy metals and other harmful substances.

The development of civilization has with its benefits also negat*e side ef~ects which regressively a-ffect the human population. For example the development of new industrial branches, namely petrochemical as well as others, bring about a substantial ecological burden in the form of contamination of its surroundings.
The nature is able to eliminate this burden by its own mechanism of homeostasis, which, however, as a rule acts in a long term fashion.
In Europe the limits of nature's self healing capability have probably already been reached ~nd the adverse biological impact of such disruptions are beg~lming to be felt.
The most frequent ecological burden is without question the increasing content of pollutants in air, water and soil. The severity of impact o~ such pollutants depends on many factors and their characteristics namely on their toxicity, concentration and mobility.
Some of the polluting matter is gradually being removed, dissociated or neutralized~

For this reason a n~unber of research rac;lities elevated their interest and level ot activities in the s3omain of biodegradation in recent years. Although a considerable e~fort is spent in this direction, the results in combating pollution are not appro~?riately successful. The authors of these inventions base their findings and proposed solutions mainly on their present day knowledge or information of natural energies such as magnetic fields.
In 1966 Professor Kopecek had obtained a patent for his invention ~The M~thod oE Influ~ncing Growth, Fer~ility and Natural Immunity of Biological Matter, such as Plants."

The surface area of the soil to be affected dictates the size of the above device.
The technical layout for a 1() x 10 meter area for example, consists of a Pb electrode placed vertically in the soil or other matter on one side, the Cu electrode is placed vertically on the opposite side. The layout can be increased in size as the need dictates, up to a few hundred meters. It can also be joined in bands of so called batteries, which can cover arbitrary areas of soil or other matter to remove ~rom it undesirable contaminants of heavy metal and other contaminants.
The accompanying drawing shows the described device of this patent application, including the Pd and Cu electrodes, magnetic sources and DC power sources.

Claims
The use of Electromagnetic Fields of Intesities Above Background for Purifying Soil and Similar Contaminated Substances.
Professor Kopecek and Dr. Pravda.
Claim.
The method of purifying soil or other media (water) from undesirable contaminants with the aid of magnetic fields of higher intensities distinguishes itself by applying two opposite electrodes, ie: Cu and Pb, or if needed other conducting materials connected to a DC source or appropriate AC source, or a combination of both and with the aid of an artificial magnetic field, placed approximately between the electrodes, stimulates and accelerates the biodegradation process which in turn facilitates the dissociation, or alteration and in effect neutralization of certain undesirable contaminants, including radioactive matter, contained in the treated media.
