ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Herbicidal aryl triazolinones include the com-pounds of the formula where X is preferably halogen such as fluorine, Y is preferably halogen such as chlorine, R1 is prefer-ably methyl, R2 is preferably CHF2, R3 is pre-ferably CH(CH3). Z is oxygen or sulfur. R4 may be alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, mono-valent cyclic having a ring of 5 or 6 atoms or ZR4 may be a residue of an amine, a sulfonamide. or an oxime. 0832W0082Wmd
