Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a jar opener having a pair of handle portions, a pair of gripper portions, and a intermediate pivot portion having concentric circular slightly domed areas on the upper and lower end surfaces thereof; the pair of handle portions have smooth curved outer surfaces and tapered ends; one of the handle portions has a trigger-like member extending outwardly therefrom adjacent the pivot portion; the trigger -like member is generally oblong in elevation view and has a convex rear surface and a concave front surface in plan view; the concave front surface has a series of spaced-apart laterally extending ridges thereon; the pair of gripper portions have curved inner and outer surfaces and one of the gripper portions is longer than the other gripper portion; the outer surface of the shorter gripper portion merges smoothly into the side surface of the pivot portion; the top surface of the shorter gripper portion has an enlarged generally flat cylindrical first thin disk portion at the front end thereof; the top surface of the longer gripper portion has a pair of spaced-apart enlarged generally flat second and third cylindrical thin disk portions thereon; the second thin disk portion is situated at the front end of the longer gripper portion and the third disk portion is situated part-way along the length of the longer gripper portion; the three flat cylindrical thin disk portions are generally coplanar and generally identical and the outer edge of the fist disk portion contacts the outer edges of the second and third cylindrical thin disk portions.
