Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a hand dryer having front and rear walls, side walls, and a bottom wall; the side walls are generally flat and parallel; the bottom wall has a raised rectangular area which extends most of the width of the bottom wall and extends forwardly from the lower edge of the rear wall most of the way towards the front wall of the hand dryer; the raised rectangular area is generally flat and extends at right angles to the rear wall, the side walls, and the lower portion of the front wall;the rear wall is flat, has a curved upper edge, and is generally parallel to the flat lower portion of the front wall; the front wall has a slightly forwardly bent upper portion and a curved upper edge which generally follows the curvature of the upper edge of the rear wall; the flat lower portion of the front wall merges through a curved lower area into the bottom wall, the curved lower area having a generally rectangular central transparent window therein;the hand dryer has an upper surface having a wide slot portion therein which extends the width of the hand dryer and has no side walls; the slot portion has a flat bottom surface, a downwardly and rearwards extending front surface and a rear surface which extends downwards and slightly forwards; the front and bottom surfaces and the rear and bottom surfaces of the slot portion merge into each other through slightly curved areas; the front surface of the slot portion has a forwardly curved upper area which merges into the upper edge of the front wall of the hand dryer; the rear surface of the slot portion has a forwardly projecting portion which extends most of the width of the rear surface; the projecting portion has a curved upper surface portion and a downwardly and rearwards extending generally flat lower surface portion; the generally flat lower surface portion has a chevron pattern of spaced-apart narrow generally identical openings therein; a laterally extending elongated generally rectangular area with rounded corners is situated on the lower surface portion beneath the chevron pattern of spaced-apart openings; the upper surface of the slot portion has a smooth downwardly curved rear surface portion which extends forwards to the rear surface of the slot portion; the curved rear surface portion has a narrow laterally extending rectangular area therein;the front surface of the slot portion has a shallowly concaved trapezoid portion which extends most of the front surface of the slot portion; the shallowly concaved trapezoid portion has a laterally extending elongated trapezoid portion on the upper part, a chevron pattern of spaced-apart generally identical openings beneath the laterally extending elongated trapezoid portion, and a laterally extending elongated rectangular portion with rounded corners on the lower part;the left side wall of the hand dryer has a generally rectangular area in the upper portion thereof situated between the rear surface of the slot portion and the rear wall of the hand dryer; the generally rectangular area has a rounded upper front corner.
