Description
los;~ozl La présente invention concerne l'application, à titre d'herbicides sélectifs vis-à-vis de certaines dicotylédones, d'arylméthylurées déjà connues.
Dans le brevet belge No 791.449 ont été décrits des produits de formule I:
1 ~ Y / CH3 (I) R2 (C~2)n S X

lOS;~OZ~ los; ~ ozl The present invention relates to the application, as selective herbicides for certain broadleaf weeds, already known arylmethylureas.
In the Belgian patent No 791.449 have been described products of formula I:
1 ~ Y / CH3 (I) R2 (C ~ 2) n SX
in which Rl and R2, which are identical or different, represent 10 hydrogen, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, a group-:
nitro, a trifluoromethyl group, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an alkyloxy radical comprising from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, m represents the number 0, 1 or 2, n ~.
represents the number 0 or 1, X represents either an alkyl radical:.
having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, unsubstituted or substituted by a halogen atom, i.e. a nitrogen heterocycle which may contain one or more other hetero atoms t and Y represents an atom hydrogen, an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 atoms of ~.
carbon, or an SZ group, Z being a nitrogen heterocycle which may contain one or more other heteroatoms.
These products have been described as having remarkable pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide properties with respect to dicots, while being little active on cultivated grasses, which allowed selective treatment cereals (eg wheat, barley, rye, oats, corn and rice).
It has now been found that these products have moreover, an unexpected and remarkable selectivity with respect to ii ",, - 1 - ~

some useful broadleaves, while having, as has d ~ j ~ been shown, Rur herbicide properties of very nom-breu ~ es other broadleaf weeds.
This is how the products Q of formula I present remarkable selectivity with respect to cotton, groundnuts, beans, peas, soybeans, tomatoes, potatoes earth and sunflower.
This selectivity thus makes it possible to carry out such crops in the best conditions by eliminating unwanted weeds.
The present invention therefore relates to the application as selective herbicides in ~ cotton crops, peanut, bean, poi ~, soy, tomato, potato and sunflower products with the formula IR ~ CH
R ~ Y \ (CH2) n ~~~ X (I) in which Rl, R2, X, Y, m and n have the meaning . above.
Among the products of formula I, it is possible to use preferably products with formula II:

Among the products of formula II, one can use in particular the products having the formulas:
Cl ~ / 3 S CH2 CH3 (III) .
'' and C
~ / 3 Cl ~ I ~ \ S-CH / \ (IV) ~ 'application of the products of formula I as selective herbicides in cotton, peanut, bean, poi ~, soy, tomato, potato - and sunflower, is quite unexpected given the properties discovered ~ disclosed and disclosed for these products.
Indeed, the presentation of the pre and post-~ emergence had shown that these products were harmful to ~ - -many dicots. So you could think that, without this property being absolute ~ ent general, it made any use of the products of formula I impossible in selective application ~ i9- ~ -Vi ~ of the group's cultures of ~ dicotyledons because these products ~ would show too much _ ~ _ 105; ~ 021 phytotoxic towards these plants. ~ 'prior art did not authorize the wait for tals results, since the best known herbicide products keep the more often with effective use, effects harmful to useful plants.
However, it was surprisingly found that product ~ de ~ ormule I had excellent selectivity vis-à-vis some useful broadleaf weeds, and it is given below selectivity and efficiency results in pre-emergence and post-emergence showing great interest of these products, compared to known products.
~ es products of ~ ormule I can be used on cultures in pre-emergent treatments, as well as in post-emergence treatments.
The doses used can vary from 0.2 to 10 Xg per hectare of crop to be treated; they are located first between 0.3 and 5 kg per hectare.
~ A present invention also relates to selective herbicide compositions Yis with respect to cotton, peanut, bean, pea, soy, tomste, potato and sunflower, characterized in that they contain as active ingredient at least one of the products of formula I above.
Also according to the invention, it is possible to use as selective herbicide compositions for crops above stated ~, the compositions which contain as active ingredient, at least one of the products have the formula I ~ supra.
